Living armor is probably the closest one. While usually not on my mind, i like the idea of having a wife you can be joined with in more than just a sexual or romantic way, adapting to each other's fighting styles and slowly becoming more powerful together.

Anyway, regarding the info:

Really surprised that living armors give birth. That means you'd have a baby who is invisible to normal people until her armor started growing.

If you see the spirit inside the armour, it's already too late.

Just wear it

The scariest part of a living armour is putting it on without knowing its alive, and hearing the soft "hello" when you put on the helmet.
