What in the fuck is this first question?

Let a and b be positive real values such that a+b=1. Let S be the sum of the two areas enclosed by the curves y=x^3+bx^2 and y=ax^2+abx. What is the minimum value of S?

You could cover half the page with the amount of mechanical bullshit you'd need to solve this. You have to solve a quadratic equation to find the endpoints, do two definite integrals, and then minimize their sum (which is in absolute values) with respect to a+b=1, and making even one mistake screws the whole question over, with part marks being super annoying to give because you'd have to try to follow their logic after the screwup which is real painful in a question like this. I refuse to believe any testmaker would put something like this on a makeup test for an eleventh grader.
And this is only question 1 of at least 5.
Immersion fucking ruined.
