My vision has been getting continually worse ever since I was a teenager. I never cared because I just sit in front of a computer screen all day, but after christmas I realized that I was having trouble making out the text on the screen.

I got an eye exam and it turns out my vision has deteriorated to the point where I have 20/500 vision. If you don't know what that means, it means I see sometime that's 20 feet away as if it were 500 feet away.

That's not as bad as you think. I sit 50-60 cm away from my monitor and can't make out the letters without squinting, and my myopia isn't very severe. What I'm saying is, it can get far worse. As long as you're able to walk around outside without many problems without glasses, your eyes are still relatively okay.

Soft lenses, and make sure you soak them in clean solution every night (or day, depending on your sleep cycle) for at least 6 hours. And I wouldnt reccomend wearing them for longer than 13-16 hours at a time.

If they start to dry out on you, a few drops of sollution in your eye works fine.

Only if it slides. If you get a lense that fits properly, then you dont feel it at all, unless you rub your eyes and get the edge on your pupil or something. You cant even feel eyelashes in your eye unless they touch your iris/pupils anyways.

I got all the usual tests done and he said that it's while unusual for it come on so severe that myopia will usually stabilize at a certain point. He did say that if it got too much worse I wouldn't be able to drive but that doesn't bother me as I am a NEET.

I'm avoiding eye surgery because they cut the top layer of your eye off, then use the laser on it. I'm sure it won't be too long until they have a way to do it without literally slicing the top of your eye off.

Glad it isn't just me. I often have to enlarge the text on my browser or move my face super close to the screen. I've tried messing with various settings and software (brightness, backlight, f.lux) but I'm just going blind.

I'm not so bothered about the Web, but images bug me. You people post pictures where the text is like 12px and I can't read it. I have to scale the image, and it upsets me that I can't read it even with glasses.

It's just what they might use to create a flap in your cornea to allow the laser to access the eye. The blade on that equipment is around 1/5th of the size required to actually penetrate your eye and do actual damage. They also sometimes use a laser for that part of the procedure too. Never something imprecise like a human doing it.
