10367334

Why? And yes, I did refresh the main page.

>> No.10367360

>>10367334
The limit changed before you clicked "Request". The request limit script (that changes the limits enforced) updates every 2 minutes while at the same time a separate script runs every 1 minute to update the values displayed on the main page. You tried to request between the time the limit changed and the display script updated the page (at most 1 minute of delay).

>> No.10367386

>>10367360
Would it be impossible to make both update whenever a song is requested or finishes?

>> No.10367422

>>10367386
Maybe not. But the setup is already hacky as fuck. I'd rather not make it even more hacky.

>> No.10367434

>>10367360
Why are these things on a different timer? Wouldn't it make more sense to have all values in sync (or almost in sync) at all times? Running a SQL or two probably isn't that computationally expensive that it'd need such a steep timer.

>> No.10367456

>>10367434
Because SAM. SAM handles requests, limits and playlist management. The scripts are PAL scripts that call PAL objects in order to do stuff, but PAL itself is quite limited, as you're not allowed to pass messages between scripts.

Example http://ompldr.org/vaDNuOA/requestlimit.pal

Oh wow, that's horrible. Proprietary systems are always way shit for some reason.

Too true. Sadly, there's no equivalent Free or open source solution like SAM.

Aw damn, just when I thought that artist should be about off the timer! But a fine choice, regardless.

>> No.10367553

>>10367521
I wanted to request it before, but you requested the regular version right when I was about to, so at least I got it in time this time.

Shikata Akiko and Akiko Shikata should both be available right now unless you wanted something that's only uploaded under 志方あきこ.

>> No.10367558

>>10367473

How much of the site and backed scripting was written from scratch versus what you rely on SAM for?

>> No.10367564

>>10367558

* backend

>> No.10367566

>>10367558
There's a small amount of "backend". In a sense, SAM is the backend itself, with only little logic running in PHP, apart from things like the tagger (that relies on a PHP library) and the report system. Even the song skipping works through SAM.

It tries to ``fix'' your Japanese symbols in ID3 tags so they don't get fucked up by the scanner into a jumbled mess. Don't use that function, though, it has worked for me one out of five times. Instead, make sure your MP3 file uses ID3v2.4 tags (not ID3v2.3), and you're off much better. See the FAQ for more details.

Her violin form is... acceptable; considering what it is being compared to.

Although with that bow hold, her thumb is most definitely straightened out. Also, it seems like her right arm is tensed up.
