Guys, I finally did it. I 1cc a Touhou game on normal. It was 9, Komachi was hard as hell and put up a long fight but Shikiki died in like 90 seconds and didn't really have anything difficult though. Now back to 5 or 8 since those are the two that I can get to the sixth stage regularly on.

I think PCB is probably the most well appreciated in general. Scorers like it, it's the best one to try and 1cc at first when you're new, and it's also got the whole letting you play as the previous games boss factor which is just really cool.

It's music is among the most liked too I believe. I personally feel the way the stages and bosses music flow together in PCB is peerless within the series, but I haven't seen anything to suggest others feel that way.

PCB also has the whole extra-extra stage with Phantasm/Yukari which helps it stand out even more.

It's a hard stage but it's not what I'd call the hardest. I'd say that Stage 5 in UFO is harder. Greatest Treasure is a very tough spellcard and more chaotic than Cat Walk. The barrage with all the glowing red bullets can also be very random. Then there's the very final bit which feels more scary than anything in SA Stage 5.

SA Stage 5 is just a question of some micrododging, Catwalk and a bit of memorized streaming. By no means easy but less difficult than the one in UFO. Especially if you count in the bosses.

It's by no means BS in neither game's case though.

It's not unreasonable to have difficulty with needles. It's pretty dense but if your movement is accurate then it's just a simple question of dodging bullets coming from one angle while taking into account that the ghost wheels are aimed for you.

The reason many people find Shou more difficult is that her glowing bullets can be hard to read when they overlap each other and because of how her lasers work.

That is my reason anyway. For me it's consistently either NMNB or 1MNB on Orin while Shou it's rare I get NMNB's, usually a fail a few times. It's a subjective thing though, of course it is.

It's as shitty as my shitty laptop that can't run it with less than 15% slowdown.

Max rank Remilia is the hardest stage 6 boss. This is fact.
I've perfected every stage 6 on lunatic besides EoSD, and I've put quadruple the amount of time into trying it than it took me to do the other games stage 6.
I've never came close to capturing Scarlet Meister (I take it we can all agree this is bar none the hardest spellcard in the series, right?)
Funny thing is, Remilias boss fight seems the shortest out of all the 6th stage bosses.

My favourite game is EoSD. Now if I really wanted to, I could argue that EoSD is the hardest in the series. Why? Because it's "never" been NMNB'd and it's the oldest of the windows 2hu's. That alone is testament to how difficult some of the patterns are in that game.
I don't think UFO has been NMNB'd either but it's much older, and people have already come close.
Anyway regardless of all that, SA stage 5 > UFO stage 5 in difficulty. Deal with it UFOfags.

To wrap it all up, Scarlet Gensokyo is IMO one of the hardest final spell cards.

For the first one start in the middle, then when she's about to fire the red ones (you can tell by the sound effect) move quickly to one of the sides to misdirect them and then go back to the middle right away.
Since the red suns are aimed that should buy you some time and you shouldn't waste more than two bombs this way.

The third one is a joke, you don't even need the safespot for that one.

The second to last, I'm afraid there is no trick here, you either have to learn how to dodge it or waste 3-4 bombs.
