Mnnn, it's not summer yet but it sure is warming up.
So lets cool off with a youkai thread!

<- Rokurubi
They appear as normal women, but when night approached their heads stretch out.
Also possess cannibalistic tendencies

No it isn't, summer ended last week.

Kappa don't eat humans, but trick them into drowning usually.

Unless you bow at it, then the dish on top of its head will spill, killing kappa.

They like sumo and cucumbers.

Among youkai culture, it's probably considered to be plenty polite. After all, many of them only see humans as targets for attacking, so if that was taken away, then they would have no regard at all for them.

In addition to that, the simple act of eating is actually very significant: you are what you eat, after all.

In that way, it wouldn't be surprising if there were many of them who would consider the killing of humans, and especially the eating of them, to be a great compliment to the humans in question.

>>10574190
Abandon your common sense, but not your logic. Before long, even if you don't do anything to them, the humans will start attacking you. After a sufficient amount of time has passed, the humans will do your work for you: your life as a human will be taken away, and you will most likely be enraged at the loss of something that you highly valued. Cue revenge.

Or, you can just meditate every day.

You kidding? Kappa kill their victims by drowning them and sucking out their entrails through their anus.

(Apparently this is how this particular youkai was conceived of - drowned bodies that are waterlogged and distended often do look as though their innards are coming out their ass.)

If youkai like to eat humans, then why do they dress up as humans? That's like dressing up as a cow to eat cow.

>The metaphor of a wolf in sheep's clothing can be used as an analogy, but with the caveat that mimics are not intentionally deceiving their prey. For example, indigenous Australians who dress up as and imitate kangaroos when hunting would not be considered aggressive mimics, nor would a human angler.

Youkai choose to look human.

So by association, wearing an article of cotton clothing mean you're dressing up as a cotton plant.
