Goddamnit, I hope Tasofro creates character add-on patches, a lot of Touhous from the last few games that I could see engaging in physical combat like Nazrin, Seiga, Orin and Kasen (especially Kasen) would be awesome.

china has been an expansion character in both 2hu fighting games and she didn't appear in a background. I won't give up hope.

Wouldn't it have been great if Hopeless Masquerade wasn't made and instead they just kept making more expansions for SWR
Overtime it could have actually really built a nice sized competitive scene so long they kept balancing

I almost wish Mamizou was like this, her "traditional" youkai transformation attacks are a little too queer for my tastes.

I think her outline animal/human shaped danmaku was subtle and dignified. What she has in HM is overboard.

I think the graphic fidelity in HM are really in the next level for Touhou. I feel Hisou has better gameplay while HM is a lot more fun.
It would be better to just keep expanding this new one.

Wouldn't it be great if those missing characters were all chosen on purpose? So later on we get the Meiling, Kasen, Momiji, and Flan expansion. Yes I know it makes no sense.

The sprites in HM are just fantastic from an art standpoint. They're lively, well animated and remind me a lot of the old cartoony sprite art from SNK games like Metal Slug, only higher resolution.

I though of a jealousymeter that works like miko's but backwards, the more popular your oponent is parsee get more jealous therefore more strong.

I can imagine her as one of the underdog characters who can pose a challenge to more dedicated players. Considering her job is to get around and run errands, I'm actually kinda surprised she didn't make into the fighter.

Don't be a tease, it's one of my absolute favorite tracks
I think "At the end of Spring" or "A Tiny, Tiny Clever Commander" fits Nazrin better as a character though. Esoteria would have been perfect for Shou.

I think there's a difference in personality too. Shou doesn't seem like the type to go out and duke it out, even if there's stuff going on (especially when there are people she's allied with, like Ichirin, who happily would). When she was in the OP everyone was saying she'd be playable, and even if I believed so myself for a while, I still thought it was weird.

She's one of my favorite characters though, so it's not like I would have MINDED it too much if she was in it. But at the same time, her apparent complete incompetence with hand to hand combat or weapons is kinda charming, it really creates the image of her as someone who spends her time doing nothing but religious training or administrative duties.
