24 here, bought my dolls at 23. I've wanted DD's since I was about 18, but I had to wait until I graduated college and got a real grown-up job.

I spend more on my doll's clothes than I do on my own clothes.

The nice thing about dolls is that the hobby's only just as expensive as you want to make it out to be. Of course if you absolutely need several rare limiteds then yes, it can get out of hand, but building a custom one from either one of the readily available Volks models or getting one of the cheaper limiteds (Haruhis, K-ONs, Saber Extra/Alter II etc.) I find the costs are very reasonable. Myself I've got just one base model with a custom face paint and of course a couple wigs and some clothes so it's been very cheap compared to my other hobbies, photography and cars.

I think DDS series are the most beautiful dolls there are out there. I know it's just me, but most of the other dolls have always creeps me out, but the DDS, I find them cute instead.

More or less true. I think the average age for doll collectors is between 25-35 because most people in college and high school or without a career can't afford this hobby unless they have something like a trust fund to rely on.
