Anyway, I don't care about Touhou popularity. I just love it.

I've always hoped that if touhou boomed, the extremely disturbed population of /jp/ would somehow disgust normals enough to stay away from it.

I didn't know touhou had become mainstream though. I guess when there are dozens of 4chan banners involving 2hus, and doujin covers all over youtube, it was already too late.

I think it's nice when other people like what I like.

Sometime around 2010, a lot of people suddenly seemed to be getting good at Touhou, posting Lunatic 1ccs within a couple of weeks of playing. However, it wasn't actually people improving, but normies picking up Touhou. Now as a result, Lunatic is the standard difficulty for anybody who first tries to pick up Touhou.
