Really not much. It only gets confusing because lines are so thick towards the bottom that they are unreadable, but it turns out you don't need to read them anyway, as the flags are the only things that matter, and from the titles you can understand which bit you're at. Just go from one flag to the next, and don't try anything tricky like saving and reloading.

Akiha = Hisui > Arc > Ciel > Kohaku

While Hisui is my favorite and both her and Akiha are best girls, there's a reason why Akiha is first.

As much as I love Ren, both white and black, I can't in good conscience put them at the top of the heroine list. Kohaku is simply the best heroine, hands down. Her path and story are everything that makes the experience worth it, and I just love her character, both original Kohaku and the weird characterization of her that appeared in Kagetsu Tohya/Melty Blood.

That said, Kohaku's bad end, the second to last one is probably one of my favorite scenes in the whole VN.
When Shiki goes full origin mode and turns into Nanaya and kills Akiha instantly. "What bright, beautiful blue eyes... when did..."
That scene just gives me fucking chills man.

I think Kohaku happy end is supposed to resolve all the problems in Far side route with Kohaku going out to redeem herself so the good ending is deserved.

And in her ending, Kohaku actually left the Tohno mansion so it's not really the same as before, she is freed.

I don't like the idea of everything being great after what happened in Kohaku's route.
Like the stress and drama felt real in Hisui's route
Everyone's dead but they have each other and that's why Hisui is best girl.

Hisui's endings are great but they feel as setting the stages for Kohaku's route since the huge spoiling event in the end so you play Hisui's then you gotta play Kohaku's route to resolve all the problems.

Stiil, as said, if you like depressing ending, the second to last dead end of Kohaku route can substitute for that.
