I don't even know anymore, I love touhou for the games and liked the fandom before coming here, now I realize I'm stuck with weird kiddos, my only other option is Kancolle but it's the same shit except everyone seems like an asshole and the source material is in Japanese and isn't any good as a game to start with.
So, can you restore my faith in either , can we have both, is there anywhere else to turn. or am I screwed?

If you like a series only to the point where the rest of it's fanbase will make you dislike it, you don't actually like the series

Go back to /av/. Stay there.

No it's not about liking the series itself, I'll still like it, it's about having a fandom I won't feel shit in and being able to talk about touhou without all this bullshit.

>my only other option is Kancolle

I don't really get it, not talking about Kancolle itself. I mean, you love something so much but you'd rather stick to the next trend because you care more about being part of a fanbase than the actual thing you like?

Yeah go to /v/ then, people there love people like you.

>> No.13164113

It's probably a bad idea to ask this of the retards you're trying to avoid.

This guy knows; but I kinda understand, its easy to find yourself more comfortable between the people that likes the same as you... but then again, it's more simple to be honest and know what you really like

Why do you have to be affiliated with a fandom to enjoy something?

>> No.13167181

You're on /jp/ and you (claim to) love 2hu and are talking about Kancolle. You ARE one of the "weird kiddos". Get over it.

>Liking Kancolle
Go and fucking kill yourself you disgusting piece of shit

>> No.13168005

OP, do things you find fun, don't try to follow the trends. You'll be much happier this way.

>> No.13168097

You are the weirdest of the kiddos if other people liking things you like is a bad thing. You seem to be prefacing your liking a subject with interaction with the fandom rather than the other way around.

>> No.13168190

Touhou is shit, from the games to the fandom. It being entry level secondary pandering shit that hooks up little kids like candy is the only reason why it managed to live so damn long. There comes a time that even those children have to grow up, and now's your time OP.

OP here, I never said anything about liking kancolle. It's a worse game with a fandom that's the same in a way if not also worse.

If you like Touhou for its games, then stick with it. If others who like it are weird kiddos, then just ignore them. It's really not that hard. Whatever happened to being able to ignore things you don't like.

KanColle's not much of a game; you only play it if you like the girls. That's what drives most if not all of its players to play it. If you like its girls then play it, if you don't then don't. Simple as that. It's true that most of the players here are assholes but that's more a defence mechanism to keep the weird kiddos out than anything else. As long as you don't act like a retard and know what you're doing, they'll all be nice to you. Also you don't need to learn Japanese to play it, you just need to remember where to click. The English wikia has just about everything translated.

/jp/ is like a more boring and hipster version of /a/. /jp/ hates anything that isn't 'sekrit club' obscure weeaboo shit. The good thing about /jp/ is you see how angry and miserable NEETs really are.

/a/ is the land of waifu wars and the most dramatic discussions of episodes. They make up stories about their imaginary onee-sans and imoutos. Also they like to pretend they aren't /v/ and /jp/. A lot of them are /v/ and /jp/.

/v/ is console wars and nintendo. But sometimes have better discussions about otaku culture. They have waifu wars and imaginary stories about their moms. They like to pretend they aren't /a/ and /jp/. A lot of them are /a/ and /jp/.

And that's the bottom line, cause _________

All 3 of them like to pretend they aren't /sp/ as well. /sp/ duly returns the favour to /a/ but not to /jp/ or /v/.
