I think Sakuya is the Touhou with the most works about this kind of stuff.

This always makes me think of Sakuya as Dark Souls boss or something. Some eternal almost-human monster with a sad past.

I'd normally post the thing here, but the pictures are too big, so I'll have to link it.

Oh and the picture is not related to that doujin but it also tears me up.

Can't Yukari just put Ran inside a younger fox?

Some hardware and software cannot be disturbed (migrated) once it reaches a certain point in life cycle otherwise you may lose it as you once had it. Simply because computers are weird and react to variables in their own ways.

Regards, enterprise engineer.

But to be philosophical, from the point of view if Ran is truly a computer. Were Yukari to move Ran's software onto new hardware that would no longer be Ran, as it would be a copy. The original Ran would still be on the original storage unit.

Asatsuki Dou's doujinshi aren't everyone's cup of tea (for understandable reasons), but well, they like doing this sort of thing. Their doujinshi is something of a guilty pleasure for me.
Also, please do read Johari Garden by Youkanchi sometime. It's different from most doujinshi. It's very feel-y, but also beautiful and surprisingly thought-provoking.

Y'all should read some Ugatsu Matsuki sometime. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, particularly the doujin I'll post below which has quite excessive edge (holy shit I can't stress how edgy it is jesus), but if you're into that kind of thing you'll love it. At least I did, for some reason.

Ichikai's works are the most depressing things I've read in this context.
https://danbooru.donmai.us/pools/5497

He also has a doujin where Aya gets blown in half when doing war reporting but I can't find it.

I love Ichikai's art style.
Danbooru only has the cover for that one, but dynasty reader has the rest.

Here's one about Sakuya.

This one is about Eirin and Reisen, but makes a passing reference to the first one.

God, I really hate these sorts of stories. Gensokyo becomes like the outside world or the barrier collapses and everything sucks or a big war happens or...ugh, fuck off with that shit. It's so cheap.
The other stories are much better, though somewhat less if they're in the same continuity as the first.

>> No.16164287 [DELETED]

Just a bit of a typo. Referencing the first one should be the second one instead.

>> No.16164300

Bit of a typo, the Eirin doujin doesn't reference the Aya one, but the Sakuya one.

>> No.16164841

Yeah I don't particularly like that particular doujin of Ichi for that reason. Aside from being cheap it plain simply doesn't work. It's like shoehorning the characters into a different universe just for the sake of shoehorning them.
http://danbooru.donmai.us/pools/8659
Here's another one by Ichi, Goodbye Heaven. It's about what awaits Kaguya and Mokou at the end of the world, and it's quite nice.

As in, she's going to vampire out, or that her magical time bullshit is going to stop her from dying?

PoFV and IN strongly imply that her time's limited if no major changes happen.
