But to be philosophical, from the point of view if Ran is truly a computer. Were Yukari to move Ran's software onto new hardware that would no longer be Ran, as it would be a copy. The original Ran would still be on the original storage unit.

Asatsuki Dou's doujinshi aren't everyone's cup of tea (for understandable reasons), but well, they like doing this sort of thing. Their doujinshi is something of a guilty pleasure for me.
Also, please do read Johari Garden by Youkanchi sometime. It's different from most doujinshi. It's very feel-y, but also beautiful and surprisingly thought-provoking.

God, I really hate these sorts of stories. Gensokyo becomes like the outside world or the barrier collapses and everything sucks or a big war happens or...ugh, fuck off with that shit. It's so cheap.
The other stories are much better, though somewhat less if they're in the same continuity as the first.

Yeah I don't particularly like that particular doujin of Ichi for that reason. Aside from being cheap it plain simply doesn't work. It's like shoehorning the characters into a different universe just for the sake of shoehorning them.
