Patchy would probably run about $70ish. Depends on if I have to go buy more trim, though. Yuyu, though...oh God, she brings back bad memories. If I wanted to turn any sort of profit with her, she'd have to go for well over $100, since I had to spend over $50 just on trim and ribbon for her. However, if you wanted one without all the fancy stuff, that figure would drop way down.

My prices are not set in stone, though - I'll go lower if needed, especially during desperate times such as these.

Yeah, I know my prices are kinda steep compared to the dolls on the OP's site, but keep in mind that those are professionally done, as opposed to being hand-sewn by one dude with an old hand-me-down sewing machine. That and my dolls are like 2 feet tall - hell, you saw Patchy in the box.

In that case, I would recommend that you take great care in your paint/paintbrush selections. If your bristles are too stiff or your paint is too think, you'll get lines and marks all over it where you painted. If this happens, get at least a P240 grit sheet of sand paper and smooth it out.

A little warning before you dive in, though. They don't come ready to paint and piece together. Each piece is separately cast and comes with a tab leftover from the mold that you have to cut off and sand down. Also, because the pieces are cast separately, they don't necessarily fit together perfectly. You will need some modeling putty to fill in any gaps.

I don't really use DA because I like it...I just use it because it's a well-known place that I can show off my work without having to go through a lot of hassle.
The throngs of idiots aren't so bad, really. I generally only deal with obscure stuff, so that keeps the really bad ones away. Occasionally someone comes around that's like "omg maek me one plzz!!!!", but that's to be expected and it doesn't really bother me. I figure if someone really wants to commission me, they'll handle it like a civilized person.

I don't speak a damn bit of moon (aside from recognizing character strings for certain things), and I can navigate toranoana and amiami.com fine. The trick is to get the kanji for what you want, put it in their search and go. Learn the symbols for price and day/month/year and you'll be fine. Deputy services are easy shit to deal with, just go to celga.com or shoppingmalljapan.com. Read their FAQs and such, it's easy to figure out.

Also, you don't have to pay up front (maybe a deposit for some items) on toyslogic. No excuse.
