Those numbers are so pulled out of their asses, you shouldn't think any plane at all did have close to 6:1 rate in a relatively adequate engagement. You can look at wikipedia P-47(by no means a bad plane) numbers, which are barely above 1, to see what it should really be like. I'd say if there were numbers close to real, they would be Luftwaffe vs RAF since they would be most likely to actually confirm both sides losses and thus manipulate the numbers to lesser extent. Or do you think that a proper ace should have 250+ personal kills like germans claimed on eastern front? A really good number would be around 2 kills per plane lost, maybe 3 in real greenhouse conditions.

Well IL-2 is that kind of plane, it would have high losses even with air superiority since it's basically under fire whenever in combat, it takes a special kind of mentality to do what stukas did one-sided in the beginning of the war and take whatever your enemy has to answer in the face. Still, things like A-10 are it's direct successors.

About the losses, google came up with the more or less adequate 46k planes for soviet combat losses, with 70k claimed by Luftwaffe, and well, claiming to single-handedly shoot down 1/50th of your country's air force total is a bit too much.

Transport phase is feasible even without Taiyou if you have enough seaplane fighter.
I used 1 Kyoufuu kai, 2 Type 2 kai and 3 Ro 44 + 2 seaplane bomber on my Mogami and Mikuma. They are enough to at least secure air parity.
