Well, mine is an i5-4590 with GTX 1060 and the game starts going under 30fps when there's a bunch of enemies on the screen. As crappy as the Fortissimo engine is, it's normal for space to not advance the text. Super normal. The typical ways are usually enter or mousewheel. Especially older games may not support mousewheel though.
Also, you may have a second enter to the very bottom right of your keyboard. It's more comfy, but if you are on a laptop, you may not have that. (basically reliant on having the number pad)

Starting Ruri no Kasane. I've never played a Neko Neko Soft game before so I'm not sure what to expect. But thankfully it doesn't seem like a nukige from EGS reviews and seems to be more of a touching story which I'm grateful for. I dislike that so many lolige are also nukige

Finished Noratoto2, Lucia and Nobuchina did not disappoint. I like Iris, she was cute and all, but it felt like they wrote her route after they finished the others, she was practically nonexistent in all the other routes. Nobuchina's felt like the true route of the successor, she had the aura of Patricia's parallel more than Iris did.

Kinda got busy so I'm resuming my playthrough. Give me two weeks to finish this, senpai. Haven't read Umineko but I really like Baldr Heart's OST. It's surprisingly varied despite having just around 30 tracks. Most of the tracks are really good and well used too.

Man, making choices is difficult. I suppose there isn't a suggested route order for Fortissimo? All the heroines seem pretty likable so far so I'll probably end up doing all of them with Momiji's last since she's a lot of fun, character-wise. Although I often end up only doing one route in VNs even if the beginning is good since the ending turns out to be a crapshoot (like sakura no mori dreamers, ugh), but I have somewhat high hopes for this so we'll see what happens.

Also I feel like Nagisa and Sakura share similar personality roles (big tits, airheaded) but haven't really seen much of Nagisa so can't make judgement yet.

You shouldn't have trouble grinding so long as you just change weapons each events. And even if you do, just replay any event that spawns a fuckton of enemies and use your bazooka or missile on it. VN difficulty is a meme. Once you have a solid grasp of basic-intermediate grammar you can read anything and read up on/learn any new grammar you come across.
As for vocabulary, just add all new words you come across to your flashcard app and read as slow as takes to make sure you understand everything. There's no rush to read fast since the number of VNs that are really worth reading is low, anyway.

Around 1050 games from the 90s, 儚想 ～あねもね～ and 夕霧 ～人形師の遺産～ are a couple I cherry picked that look like they would be a pain to find elsewhere. Drones let you focus on your primary weapon plus they are a nice meatshield. You take them out and whenever they shoot you recharge your primary weapon so you can just shoot without any worries.
Use Carol's 4th event(the one with objects spawning zakos) to farm exp with weapons. I got like 1->10 levels in 5 minutes.
