A young Ronin name Iizasa Seisuke from Sengoku Jidai era in alternate universe where Yokai and other supernatural beings freely roam the earth.

A descendant of famous martial arts founder Iizasa Ienao and under the protection of his ancestor Kami Futsunushi, he took tutelage under various Samurai, Shinobi, and Omnyoji masters and become one of the Youkai Exterminator within the Shogunate.

During one of the yokai cleansing in an abandoned temple, he was transported away into current universe Gensokyo when he tried to get pass trough a Torii gate.

Equipped with various skills and determination, he must adjust trough the time of peace between human and yokai within Gensokyo

I'm sorry if this sounds fucking autistic but I had a sudden inspiration when I saw this thread and I could not resist. Mild autism warning:

A spirit of an European soldier (who was secretly a woman) who was the first to fall during a battle in the early 18th century. As she was the first to fall, she became a spirit to protect the battlefield but after a few centuries, the battle was forgotten due to some unknown event which led to the destruction of all of its documents.

One day she suddenly found herself in a strange new place. As she was confused about the disappearance of the battlefield (except for a small memorial monument), she decided to remain steadfast, and stay in guard for the small monument.

One night a yokai happened to be passing by, and saw that our always vigilant trooper was not paying any attention. Thus the yokai had a great idea to give her some fun. When the spirit wasn't watching, the yokai replaced the monument with an ordinary stone and hid the real one. The spirit noticed this only by the morning, and when she did, she decided to set out in rage to find the thief who took the only thing which mattered to her anymore. And with the powers of her fallen brothers-in-arms, she will take revenge upon the one who dared to shame them.

I find it weird that while these three cultural occupation makes japanese popular aethestically trough Musashi Miyamoto, Hanzo Hattori, and Abe no Seimei, yet Zun decides not to apply this things in his game. It must be overrated for him.

Since we got Sanae, descendant of Suwako, then its only logical that there should be other demigods as well. This is a male descendant of Kanako, priest from branch Suwa shrine.

He investigate the "loss of dignity/aura" in the grand shrine, and managed to cross to Gensokyo, finding that the shrine's spiritual copy was transferred here, along with Sanae (reported missing) and the goddess over 10 years ago.

He must decide whether to A= cut off the spiritual link (which can damage Gensokyo shrine) or B= let things be (which will damage the Outside World's shrine).
The final ritual ofcourse needed mana so he needs to romance, marries, and sex up a girl. Route is Reimu (mainly route A), Sanae (mainly route B) and Marisa (neutral)

Technically Youmu falls under swordsman/kenshi (剣士), not Samurai.

Ninja is somewhat gain more noticeable mythical status compared to the realistic Samurai, especially their Kuji-kiri (hand seals). Kato Danzo in legend is able to fly and cast illusion to his opponent. There's also Koji Kashin who played illusion to legendary Daimyo like Nobunaga and Hideyoshi, though his status as Ninja is questionable since acts more like a Sorcerer. And there's Fuuma Kotaro, who is said that he look more like an Oni than human. With all of the example above, the existence of Ninja still somewhat fit the premise in Gensokyo due to their magical arts.

Don't forget that Samurai in the Heian era also has noticeable feats for dealing with the youkais. Guess who's responsible for the death of Shuten-doji and Ibaraki-doji in the legend? Minamoto no Yorimitsu and Watanabe no Tsuna, both of the are Samurai's under the Shogunate.

Heian era are full chock of these legends. Other noticeable one is Ōya no Tarō Mitsukuni defeated Takiyasha hime and her giant spooky scary skeleton named Gashadokuro

I also keep wondering that why ZUN doesn't further use the Three Great Yokais. We already got Shuten-doji in the form of Suika Ibuki and Ran Yakumo may or may not related to Tamamame no Mae. The missing one is Emperor Sutoku in the form of vengeful spirit or Tengu.

Edgy McEdgelord who become comic relief in Gensokyo

A high School sports star, popular with girls and dudes alike, has a beautiful and loving gf, with a really bright future about to be handed to him. He's had a past of bullying others but is starting to mature, and is just about to graduate. He starts wondering if he's just been doing whats expected of him all his life and if he really wants the full ride to a prestigious University to play as their star athlete, when by some miracle he's dropped in Gensokyo. He has to get by on his charisma and completely ordinary human strength to combat a supernaturally powered villain who appeared at the same time as him.

The villain would be a bitter, lonely NEET who came upon some object of great power and used it to get to Gensokyo, and begins using his powers to cause chaos through violence and potentially sexual assault. He would begin hoping he could live a calm life and be happy away from the outside world he hated, but slowly succumbs to the draw of power and control he could exert on the world he was brought to.

The story would switch points of view between the protagonist and antagonist, and it would eventually be revealed that the jock and NEET were from the same school in the Outside World. Jock MC had bullied the NEETbad in the past and is blamed for causing NEET's life to go to shit, only making NEET villain's antics even worse after they meet.

Another important piece is NEET's advantage of being a huge Touhou fan, using his official knowledge (and mistaking some fanon interpretations of characters as truth) to create havoc for Gensokyo and jock MC alike. Jock MC has to depend on his bonds with the residents and learn about the world personally without preconceived notions to stop NEETbad before he shatters the border and takes his influence into the outside world.

Just kind of spat out what I could think of without refining any of it but I grew kind of attached to the idea after writing it.

You're an amnesiac person who wakes up in Hakurei Shrine. Reimu takes you in and take care of you. She comments that even though you are a human, there something off about you. Even though she wants to take you back into the outside world, you don't have any memories regarding the outside world so she has no choice but to make you stay in her Shrine for indefinite time. In exchange, you help her as the Shrine caretaker whenever Reimu leaves to solve an incident. Some of characters drop by and interact with you as an introduction. Eventually after you stay with her for a long time, she decides to make you a Geki (覡) or Shrine Shaman of Hakurei. You can choose whether to romance and make her your wife or not.

But one rainy day, after she leaves you for another incident, you are being attacked by unknown phantasmal-like being. Even though you learn some danmaku or train Shinto magic with Reimu, this thing absolutely have no intention to play danmaku and want to kill you as quickly as it can. You hold off this being for a while, but you're fatally wounded by a stab trough your stomach. The creature leaves after that and the last thing you hear is Reimu's cry while trying to wake you up after she got back from the incident.

After you seemingly died, you get a blurry vision of Gensokyo from above. Here you can choose the location like Scarlet Devil Mansion or Eientei to get stranded and wake up to. The situation is the same as before, you're amnesiac and the owner of the nearby resident will take care of you then make you as their additional worker while possibly romancing them along the way. But the difference is that there's no mention of you being attacked by that strange being, as if the event didn't happened at all. Even you yourself have hazy memory of the previous incident.

Eventually the same thing happened again : you are getting attacked by this strange being. This thing is powerful enough to bypass the defense of your owner's resident. No matter how strong you are after getting danmaku or magic training from the owner, you always will get killed by this being and wake up amnesiac in another place of your choice without the clearest memory of the previous attack, but not fully forgotten about it. After the plot progressed, you will gradually recover some of your previous memories due to some incident or other stuff.

A Half-Gaijin who is unknowingly a Half-Oni. They're seen as a high school delinquent, because a 200-215 cm person with a strong but slim build (think swimmer build) with a tendency to be very loud plus Japanese xenophobia. Despite this, the character is quite intelligent, but is pretty much socially retarded, since the only people who actively stick around them is a posse of actual delinquents who think they're the greatest shit since sliced bread. They has a penchant for drinking excessively (because half-oni), and only imported gaijin alcohol. Eventually one night when they were drunk with the "cronies" they ended up getting separated and wandered into the woods, mostly because they got angry when their "cronies" tried to follow them. They end up passing through into Gensokyo through the Hakurei Shrine. Hijinks ensue from their point onwards:

>Reimu not knowing what to do when this tall ass human pops outta know where, and keeps trying and failing to send the fucker back, with no Yukari in sight
>Various Youkai attempting to eat them, except a gaijin oni bloodstream mostly composed of strong gaijin alcohol ends up being apparently disgusting

>Spooked Suika and Yuugi when some "human" manages to keep up drinking with them, and having a high alcohol tolerance
>MC slowly gaining the power to invoke "Murphy's Law", which ends up just causing stupid shit to happen whenever they use it.
>No one fucking realizing that MC is actually Oni until some stupid shit happens which just happens to make their horn appear
