Richie is 7, the default CG needs some work, while her rigging is pretty bad too. So she is improving. The Battleship isn't an offensive ship, it's a defensive ship. It's entire function is to defend a 'battle line', thus '(line of) battle ship'.
The offensive role belonged to 'battle cruisers' (cruise to battle).
With the introduction of Fast Battleships, the lines blurred and the 'aggressive defense' strategy became almost indistinguishable from pure aggressive offensive.
So, simply, with the addition of Carriers, Battleships just reverted back to their defensive roles as the world's heaviest class of bodyguard.
