I see this observation being made a lot so let me put it to rest. Takeminakata (the main god Kanako is based on) is often symbolized through snake or dragon imagery (because the two were symbols of weather, what Takeminakata was a god of). Upon Takeminakata's arrival to Suwa, many native gods became displeased with his goal to dominate the region. One of these gods, Moreya (the main god Suwako is based on) challenged Takeminakata. Moreya controlled the scourge/fertility gods called Mishaguji. Originally, the Mishaguji were not represented as snakes at all. They were phallic and worm-like in appearance. After Moreya's defeat, Takeminakata established his dominion over the native gods of Suwa. Thus, the Mishaguji gradually had their imagery changed to resemble snakes, the symbol of Takeminakata. Additionally, Takeminakata was known to have subdued a rampaging toad/frog god (蝦蟆神) who wreaked havoc on heaven and the seas. This wild toad/frog god was likened to symbolize the native deities of Suwa, particularly Moreya. Sanae's spell card Frog Sign "Wily Toad" (蛙符「手管の蝦蟇」) makes reference to that frog god. In Japanese mythology, the snake and the toad/frog are enemies. Takeminakata's defeat of Moreya symbolized as a snake eating a frog. So, in conclusion, Moreya and the Mishaguji were not at all related with snakes originally. It was only after Takeminakata (whose symbol is the snake) took over that the two became intertwined with such iconography. Oh yeah and Okina is Kanako's mother (father) ((mother)).

I dreamt that Kanako was swooning over a handsome guy, like a schoolgirl, even having bursts of violence when he went too far a couple times like in some anime. The guy pointed out her helpless swooning for him was like that of some heroines for Prince Damien from some kind of fable or myth that took place on a mountain and also for some guy from a book called Window of Deaths, images representing these two things appeared behind him as he said so, a city on top of a mountain on the left half side and some kind of galactic empire's fleet on the right. Then I think the author of what was happening in the dream started talking of it, saying something about he used certain "truth devices," giving an example of one being that Kanako's shimenawa which had been left behind with Suwako and apparently represents a false auroboros, having some kind of interaction with one of Suwako's lesser snakes, which represented a true auroboros.
Unrelated to Kanako except that I dreamt it just beforehand, Furudo Erika gave me some kind of magic ball that had three wards(A, B, and C, I think) on it that I somehow licked off, which impressed her, she told me to keep it and keep licking it for a week for her.
