One for me is auto stage repeat features. I'm all for automating stuff to spend less effort, but at that point it just feels like the game expects you to just leave it playing itself all the time. I'd rather spend that time and battery power on a game where I'm at least a little bit involved.

Cash shop prices being through the god damn roof ($100+ for a single 'bundle' or 10 pull).
Game being of Korean or Chinese origin - many of these games lack customer support whatsoever and treat their audience like shit though there are a few exceptions to this.
Gacha sharing pool with other stuff - Granblue is fine with characters/summons since the rates are nice (6%) but any less than that and it's fucking horrible. Throw in equipment into this tool and it becomes a complete fucking mess.
RNG equipment. In a game like PoE or Diablo you farm effortlessly and without limit. In some kusoge you are restricted to a handful of fights per day (hard limit or just held back by extremely slow stamina gain) to find that you either don't get an equipment drop or the equipment itself has stats that are pure garbage. Punishes "lucklets" and can easily fall behind everyone else because your gear is terrible.
If the game is global the developer treats anyone outside of their country like scum. I've seen it happen a fair few times where >global gets nothing for anniversaries, limited banners etc. and they simply do not care about your whining.
Game is published and/or developed by certain companies. Pokelabo have taught me to stay away (worst start to a mobage I've seen, copy paste their games completely etc.), shit released under Konami is generally trash and dies within 6 months etc.
Zero 'generosity'. I loathe games that don't give you at least some decent income of gacha currency as it just indicates to me that they want nothing but whales playing their game.

His motif is pretty core. I don't think anything can replace it. Gives buff duration for longer zombie mode AND you can use active to cancel all buffs(including no heal) to life leech back to full. This lets you go right back into zombie mode because there's no quest limit on his death save.

Tales players, how far do you guys go for banners? Usually I tend to go 1-1.5k diamonds into it before dipping out, but usually I end up with 1-3 MA of the desired character. As F2P all in until I roll the new mirror of the character I'm aiming for then stop there. Multiple copies are a luxury and the diamonds spent chasing after them would be better spent gearing up another character you like until they are moderately strong. If I'm still missing a copy of a 3/4* I really want I just buy it from the Prism Shop.

Struggling when you're kinda new is common. You're probably using characters you just got to get the most out of the event bonuses. After a while when your regular non-event characters have high enough normal currency you can just use them and convert. Since they'll be pretty well geared every fight is a joke.

Party comp matters since a some well geared characters manually controlled can carry the rest thanks to their crowd control artes. For instance a well geared Rita with Tidal Wave and cast reduction not only should have over 90 event currency but also around 3k MATK and huge AoE so she can end every fight in 5 seconds, no time for the mobs to do anything. Elize is another excellent carry too if you have her 5* artes, and she has a good healing spell as well for emergencies. Those two are my go-to when I want to get things done quickly.

In this event I'm using this team. Since she has event bonus I chose Elize instead of Rita. Elize kills everything on her path with her huge lasers, Eizen does his crowd control wind spell when he has time to cast it, Claire and Luke do whatever. If I'm bored I take control of Luke and jump around like a monkey with his new 5* and everything dies anyway. Just a matter of persevering and you'll get to this point too.

Generally speaking you don't mix and match these days. That setup I recommended has Makoto and Christina both applying physical defence down so it's best to keep the team to physical attackers unless there's the a melee resistant golem or one of those dragon fuckheads that take 0 dmg from melee present. Oh, and for your other question it's dependant on the character. Most characters can be upgraded or even flat out obtained either via the shop or via hard modes thus you should only spend your whale tears on upgrading limiteds otherwise it's a waste. A 5* Christina will never be a bad thing for you. Just make sure to prioritise getting your Pudding upgraded with (P?)Arena coins as soon as you can, pick up Nozomi with dungeon coins etc.

Star Ocean Anamnesis is the best in the business for this. They've taken their Star Ocean 5 engine and somehow slapped it onto mobile phones and they still manage to run.. barely. It has a variety of options including a 'photo mode' of sorts that allows you to basically enhance the textures even further at the cost of (most likely) making your game run like ass. Be warned the game is VERY monotonous though.

Aside from that it's hard to say because phone games are not exactly designed for graphics in mind so every game with 3D models that I know of looks like shit with bad aliasing, low texture resolution etc. Maybe Houkai would be a good recommendation too? I recall it looking pretty decent actually when I played it a few years back but maybe that's my brain playing tricks on me.

My personal gripe with that game was the fact there was less than a handful of unique characters. There were "alts" of the characters, like Mei and Yae being the 'same character' or the fact there's like 5 different characters who look nearly identical to the 'main' character (Kiana) Lots of different variations of these characters but the roster of actual unique characters on offer was low and it just felt dull to me. Ilya's self damage is fine as she can sustain herself. Her problem is that she can crit herself when she sacrifices her health to attack. That's right, she fucking crits herself. So a character that can sustain herself suddenly instagibs herself out of nowhere because of bullshit RNG. That's why Ilya is often avoided unless there's ways to circumvent it.. but then you're often gimping your team just to enable Ilya. It's a weird situation with her right now. You’ll start coming across physical damage tanks (brown golems) and magic tanks (blue golems) which are basically unkillable without timing out unless you use the opppsite attribute

Pudding and Kuuka are the best tanks for physical and magic damage respectively but get obliterated by the opposite attribute
