Why do people here criticize RTK so much? I studied RTK1+3 and I feel like it helps me remember and acquire vocab. Also, people keep saying that you forget how to write after the Anki intervals get long enough, but that generally isn't the case for me (90% retention).

I feel like being able to index kanji via English keywords is helpful, because otherwise kanji only exist in my mind in a sea of circularly referential Japanese, which isn't necessarily bad, but is confusing.

Alright I have finished episode 26, I have read several explanations and summaries detailing and explaining everything and read a couple of other reviews so I can collect my thoughts and relate it to what other people thoughts of the show. All in all I rate Neon Genesis Evangelion (26 episodes on it's own without the movie) a 5/10. Which is not bad, for me that means an average rating. Not good but not bad, or good and bad cancelling each other out.
