the first one. loads of resources already exist for them. they provide comprehensible audio that you can listen to while doing chores and the skm n2/n1 cover lots of idiomatic phrases that are not obvious from context alone. as long as you use them alongside native media youll be fine. all the arguments you see about using only native material are fucking dumb. its nice to have it all along a clear track

the amount of heat they retain is one of the main selling points lol thats why theyre good for searing and deep frying cause they don't lose much heat once you add the ingredients into it. i will say though i think the better option is to use non stick for stuff like eggs, steel for searing meats and general use (like for dishes where u want a fond so you can deglaze/make a pan suce or something) and use a dutch oven for deep frying. but you can do 2 out of those 3 things with a cast iron so it has its place.

I'd have more tolerance for Matt if he came across as just another guy trying to figure out how to get better at Japanese but he spends way too much time writing/speaking way too much English going on and on about the importance of the process (which he keeps completely changing his mind about). All this time and effort and yet the truth really never changed:
