narou has many more words than vn because it is made from a much larger (but also weeb-related) corpus

I completely lost my motivation for studying Japanese 10 years ago. How do I get it back?

My interest for studying Japanese peaked 15 years ago. Back then I had a PS2, most of my favourite games were made in Japan, a couple years prior I enjoyed Toonami's Syndication of late 90's sunrise, I wanted the best consumer electronics of which were made in Japan, TVs, Camcorders, I was reading about PS3 rumors. I thought "If what we have now is great, imagine what we'll have in the near future, we'll have even better anime, more stuff like Sunrise and better Japanese games" and then I got access to internet faster than dial-up and found out what non-cheery picked anime looks like and and it was less Mecha and Space Operas and more ecchi, then moe slice of life and later, isekai and then I explored PC Gaming and found a better Metal Gear and it was called "Deus Ex", (the one made in 2001) I hated the Final Fantasy direction going to realtime combat, so I might as well play Bethesda Games and discovered Half-Life in like 2007 and I was amazed by it and thought "There was no Japanese games like this back in 1998".

I've been told "enjoy older things", but to me that's a depressing answer, because that tells me I have nothing to look forward too, nothing to hope for the future and you can only experience the joy of discovery only once and there's only a finite number of things that existed.

So how can I get my motivation back?

Good morning guys.
I know there have probably been a lot of conversations on this subject, but as I'm new to this, I'm asking again, lol.
I'm reading Visual Novel for about 4 years now, through the program Visual Novel Reader.
I know there was a time that he died, but he came back in 2017, and it seems that now he died again, because I have to keep changing the VPN every 30 minutes of reading or he stop translating.
I sincerely like Visual Novel Reader a lot, not for the translation (because it sucks, lmao), but for being easy to use and being transparent and like I'm already 4 years with it, so changing is kind of difficult.
I tried the Textractor translation and thought it has a really cool translation, the designer isn't very good, and I wanted to use it with DeepL (i tried once and DeepL is amazing)
And in my country you don't have the option to buy DeepL, so I got It hacked on the internet, but even so the Textractor it is showing that error that you have already translated too much and can no longer translate, even with VPN only lasts 3 minutes and then show the error again.
Now that the Textractor has been updated, nor translate with DeepL anymore translate, it is showing "Request error".
So my questions are, does VNR really die, there is no way for someone to get it back to work? And how does Textractor or another translator work with DeepL?
Help, please, I don't know any Japanese, I'm already learning English and it was difficult, I love to play visual novel, but it's getting more and more difficult.

you look up kanji while reading. while learning words.

kanjidamage is good for the keyword and perhaps a rough idea about the onyomi reading. the strong tag is very valuable.

picrelated is how i distilled the kanjidamage deck. also seperate kanji learning shouldnt be very high up in priority.
