I'm not an expert on gender studies, but I do know that the objectives of classical feminists (Wolstonecraft, Anthony, etc) are quite different than those of radical feminists today (Ban all rape gaems hurp durp). As I understand it, most of the stuff that classical feminists wanted have been achieved and accepted into the canon of social mores so saying you're feminist in their sense is redundant, because most people would be feminists by this definition.

Which is why when most people associate feminist with radical feminism with feminazi, to my understanding.
