They fucked up with the IP region block really badly I feel. Maybe I'm just disproportionately frustrated because I have to turn on VPN every time to log in and can't even give them my money (payment with the card I've been using for JP mobage without issues gets declined). Still, they deliberately denied themselves foreign whales and likely a quite considerable chunk of the playerbase in general.
The possibility of them doubling down and improving the firewall or something like that doesn't help with the peace of mind either. I've found myself thinking about also starting playing on TW and considering JP a training experience for the upcoming global version. But the prospects for EN don't look good.
It's a shame, I really like the game otherwise.

Rin
Ult: Inflicts 170% ATK+x points of damage to enemy row and also inflicts silence for 1 action turn. Restores 300 SP to self.
Skill: Inflicts 135% ATK+x points of damage to single enemy and reduces the target's SP by 100. Increase own crit rate by 25% for one action turn.
Passives
"Snack Time": Recover 100 SP at the beginning of the 1st and 2nd rounds.
"Bear Bloodline" (values differ according to Rin at 3/5/7 stars):
1. When HP falls to 30/40/50% or less, go into a "violent" state and restore 20/30/50% HP immediately. (This heal is unaffected by heal blocks?)
2. When in a violent state, when HP is 100% increase attack by 10% and increase damage reduction by 20%. For every 10% decrease in HP, increase attack by an additional 10% and increase damage "destruction"(reduction?) by 5%.

Yor:
Ult: Inflicts 203% ATK+x pts of damage to single enemy. If target is killed, the damage (40% ATK) is spread to adjacent enemies as burn damage.
Skill: Attacks a single enemy, dealing 135% ATK+x pts of damage. Crit rate is raised by 30% (for this one attack only maybe?)
Passives:
"Deliver Happiness": When activating a normal attack/skill/ult, spreads the damage (35% ATK) to adjacent enemies as burn damage. An opponent killed by spread damage will not trigger on-death effects or restore SP.
"Gift of Effort": Increases crit rate by 5% at the beginning of each round. (Not sure if it stacks)

Her specific fragments are not farmable. However you can farm universal fragments that can be used on any SSR character. However this kind of farm is long and hard for beginners. There is a daily mode that doesn't unlock until around level 30 that will give you 1 universal fragment per day at the Easy level. The medium level unlocks at around level 47(?) and gives you 2 fragments per day. The highest level one unlocks at either 64 or 66 and gives you 3 daily. It will take awhile for you to get to level 66 as a new player but in the long term farming these is not that bad.
Besides this daily mode, every month we usually get a box-type event (the typical do event stages, get tickets to roll event gacha boxes) and the repeatable boxes all have 2 universal fragments each. During these events it's recommended to refill 420 gems worth of stamina to use on the event because the repeatable boxes also have 450 gems per box and as long as you are collecting daily free stamina from food, you can break even/go slightly plus. These types of events occur at the beginning of a month and usually last for two weeks - the most recent one ended so you'll have to wait for awhile.
You can also buy 6 universal fragments a day from the shop for 80 gems each but this isn't recommended for beginners since you'll want to collect a stronger roster first.

Forgot to mention but in the meantime you should try to find another guild in the meantime so you can do the daily guild tasks. Since it's the preparation week before guild war, doing guild tasks will give you these medals that you can use in one of the guild war menus to get buffs that will last the entire duration of the event.

That's a random bug that occurs for reasons I do not know why. It's been a thing since launch month and I don't think they've ever addressed this issue unfortunately, even though I've seen some nip players complain about it in the comments of some old tweets.
Only solution I know of is to keep closing/restarting the app until you can move units around without them stuck in the air. Sometimes this fixes itself in 1 restart, sometimes it takes more. The only saving grace is that it doesn't happen that frequently anymore. Used to be terrible during launch month.

Depends on the character you're building. Generally I follow

Attackers: Speed > Attack > Crit > Crit Power > HP > Penetration > Penetration Power > everything else

Defenders/Healers/Support: HP = Attack > Guard > Guard Power > Defense > Resistance > Resistance Power > everything else

Certain characters have different priorities however. Sherry and Gloria can put up an autoguard for instance so they don't need the Guard stat as much, and Guard Power becomes much more valuable to them. Some characters also want to go first before the opponent so speed is a much higher priority for them.

Rather than look at speed as a single stat, it's more important to focus on your team's turn order and how it affects the composition of your team. For example, if you're running a team that uses Quinn, Monika, and Evante, it's important that Quinn is faster than the latter two so that they can focus on whoever Quinn attacked on turn 1. So while attackers still do generally want speed, it's not something you want to blindly emphasize on.

There was a bug with R rates being 80% instead of 78% (this did not affect the SSR rate; probably only affected SR rate). They fixed it yesterday and have sent out some compensation (2 single roll tickets). I'm not sure if new accounts made after they sent out this compensation will receive it but if you have been rerolling and have kept a bunch of accounts to roll the extra beginner log-in week singles then these 2 singles might help.

There's auto and the battle system is not like FGO. The three commands are "move forward", "stand ground", and "move back", and everyone has different attack ranges. Yeah, there are different arena brackets. I'm not sure what determines the bracket you are sent to but I'm guessing they column you off based on player level.
In terms of active players, my semi active guild managed to barely get into top 500 for the event last month. Assuming each guild in the top 500 has an average of around 22 active players, that's around 11k active players. When combined with the numbers of beginner or more casual guilds that couldn't make top 500, it should be a bit more. This month should have brought in a few more new players too so maybe it'll be safe to assume there are at least ~20k active players?
Doesn't sound like much but last I checked the game's revenue seems very healthy. This month's revenue should be significantly higher too due to the 5% banner along with implementation of 300-roll pity to give the smaller whales a safety net.

Summary of the Compass anniversary stream:
The winner of the hero design contest is Ignis - once again we are denied some cute and funny. Expect him at some point next year.

Nidhogg, who was shown off earlier, has now been released and can be pulled from the standard gacha. A 7-day login campaign will run for the rest of the month that rewards 5 hero tickets, 30000 energy and 3 UR tickets. A special hero gacha is also running for the same period that has him 5 times more likely to appear. This is alongside role-specific hero gachas.

The stage maker has finally been released after numerous delays. It can be accessed from the main menu and is available for all players. You can create and share your own stages or browse and play others. Hopefully we'll get some special matchmaking playlist out of this in the future.

There will be a free single-pull UR gacha for each attribute until the 31st, meaning 3 free UR cards. 2525BM has also been distributed as an anniversary reward, and 3 more hero tickets should be sent out at some point as a reward for the number of stream viewers.

The first collaboration of the year is with Bungo Stray Dogs and will begin on the 1st January. The two new heroes are Atsushi and Akutagawa, who are a sprinter and gunner respectively. The collab brings 8 new cards along with costumes for Kitsunegasaki, Thorne, Reiya, Adam and Thomas. Free event tickets will be given out for this collab.

More and more games released require this structure and I've been getting "device incompatible" for many of latest apks.

I've seen ESLs with piss poor English being far more likely to be from the Americas than from SEA (ESLs with relatively good English usually being yuropoors; SEA is a mixed bag). I just want more fanart. Some of the designs are too good for how little fanart they get. The OC contest leading to some high profile artists doing characters for the game would be pretty neat though.

So I just started PoE today just to try things out, but I ended up getting Sera (the reason I wanted to pick up this game) and Rin (from the farming the first 10 roll) so I guess I'll be playing this game for the foreseeable future.

I'm currently on chapter 8-1 and am level 19. Any beginner tips or guides I can reference? Any advice that you guys can provide would be great as well.

This is kind of outdated but covers a lot of basics.
My advice for you right now is to join an active guild so you can take part of the current guild event for free gems.
In any case I recommend just blowing off as many rolls as you can on the current banner because you want to get a bigger roster of SSR and SR characters going as a new player. You want to settle on a decent team quickly before you invest too much into Rs or SRs that you'll inevitably replace, as the resources required for raising characters are slow to come by. We also don't know how often they are going to do 5% SSR rate banners but I think it's safe to assume that this will probably be a half/full anniversary exclusive so best to take advantage of it as much as you can.

If you wanted to start this game for Sara, you just missed her limited version by a few days. Rin is pretty good and the current limited though so its still a decent start. Also to add to what the other anon said, you'll gain gems pretty fast as you play, so don't worry about rolling them on the current gacha and not having enough for later. I've rolled every new character since I started with Sherry, the second new gacha character, and I'm still sitting on 65k gems.

What I'd do if you're tired of rerolling is actually just stick with the account for a bit and grind up some rolls and see what you end up with. Be sure to also save this account anyways even if you ditch it since we will be getting free daily 10 rolls up to 170 rolls total sometime in January so it'll be nice to have some backup accounts ready for that in case you are thinking about continuing to reroll.
