Backdash when? When you heat? That's a lost cause of heating at a bad time and getting punished for it. Most characters can just meaty if they're expecting a wakeup heat, but Akiha's meaties suck, so I prefer to evade it and maybe give up the pressure advantage.
There's a pretty big recovery time at the end of a backdash, so most characters can just dash forward themselves and grab them. Some even have enough reach with certain moves to hit them during the recovery time.

First off, no. Only 5C works there. They're too high for 4B to give you a good air combo, and will usually bounce off the top of an ex-ice. Only against large characters, you can just use 2B5B for slightly better prorating, but it's usually still an invalid combo.

Second, by that logic, Nero's only launcher is 4C, Shiki and Nanaya can only launch off of 5BB, and Warc has no launchers whatsoever. Care to rethink that idea?

My Kohaku's not great and I completely forgot to use her 22C pressure for awhile and kept accidentally putting out 222C instead. I'm not certain how much good advice I have against Neros either as they (and Aokos) are my achilles heel and I don't play Wara or Kouma. IADs tend to work well as they get you past his snakes and over his 2Bs, but you'll still get nailed by 2C and 5B. It's dangerous to try to jump above him because his 2C has a really deceptive reach. His priority on most of his nonclashing attacks is pretty bad, so I /think/ you could throw out high priority pokes like Kouma's 214A to discourage Nero's 4C, but mostly it's about staying in his face and not giving him the room to get his zoo out. Maybe. Like I said, I have a lot of trouble fighting them too, though good ones have a much better lock-down game and don't rely on mixed tempo strings as much as I do.

One thing you could do more to improve your Kouma is cross up in the air when they're downed. Just a short normal hop and then a backdash or not. It's one of Satsuki's standard tricks as well. You can also loop his 623B (or maybe it's 5A623B, I can't remember) in the corner almost infinitely if they don't tech. It's an invalid combo, but the tech timing's kind of hard and you'll eat a combo if the Kouma's opts to tech punish it instead of continuing.

It seems like Nero knocks you out of the air with about anything other than 2a/b. I've tried IAD'ing before, but it just doesn't work unless I'm using Hisui or Satsuki, who have better air dashes. With Kouma, I just end up eating a 4C or 2C. I've heard that Nero is one of Kouma's worst match-ups, and I think it might just be because Kouma's too damn slow to get past Nero's huge range. Maybe I should just try to predict the stupid mantis arm and shield grab him out of it.

His priority is bad? On WHAT? He's not as ridiculous as Ciel, but he still strikes me as having some really ridiculous priority on all the moves Neros love to spam. His priority on 4C outclashes Kouma's dash clash frames, that I know for sure, and 236 has too much start-up to use against 4C unless it whiffed. I really fuckin hate playing Nero vs. Kouma, hence why I switched to Warakia when you picked him.

I used to play Satsuki, and found this quite useful, but I haven't really thought about doing it with Kouma because everyone seems to love backdashing out of Kouma's okizeme. I know that I can 5B 236B/C to punish it, but if you noticed, I never get the 236 off, and I lose all pressure. Right now, I'm just working on my execution so they can't get out free with a backdash or dodge. I still drop a lot of fuckin combos, too, especially in 5 delay.
