Looking at it from a technical standpoint: the official releases of Muv-Luv used a PS3 port as a base. So they started as an all-ages product and had to have the H-content added back in. Kiminozo has no all-ages version outside of ancient PS2 and Dreamcast ports. They'd have to start from the 18+ version, so I think the situation may be a bit different. Also everything they've stated so far has specified "Latest Edition", which is an 18+ release containing fandisc content. Who knows, though. Hopefully they have enough sense to know that his kind of game won't fly otherwise. If they don't at least deliver an "unofficial" patch I won't buy it.

There are a few instances where it's okay to remove honorifics to streamline things because they effectively have no effect on the experience other than simply being a cultural thing, but those are pretty rare instances. Gurigura's primary quirk was that she spoke to people in the family and outside of the family entirely differently. She also changed how she addressed people when they changed from being outside the family to being inside the family. This had a really notable impact (due to her backstory) when you suddenly noticed her calling them different names because they were now part of her "precious irreplaceable family" and not just some "normal" person on the street. The western localization completely removes this and has Gurigura calling the characters the exact same thing the entire time and she never changes how she addresses anyone. In the epilogue, Shiki fatefully meets Aoko again and they muse a little bit about old times past. Shiki notes how the past several days/weeks (the span of X route) have been crazy. And some point Aoko tells him that those days will eventually end. Shiki agrees and asks something to the effect of when. The Magus just kind of remains silent and freaking Shiki just tells her that the days were fun, though.

And this is what, for me, Tsukihime was about. Yes, there were vampires and serial killers. But it was really about finding joys in today – even when it doesn’t seem like there are any… and about having faith in a tomorrow. Basically, Tohno Shiki could die ten years from that conversation with Aoko, or he might not even wake up the next day. Although we don’t “live close to death”, the same basic concept applies. There are no promises in life. So you can go through life miserable only to be potentially snuffed out tomorrow, or you can find your own happiness and hope it extends into your future.
