HoloCN/OG is the proof as to why all the people who think Coco/Peko/Suisei/whichever holo they feel like using should never try to poach holos and form their own group. The old talents have had years to bloom into something more and it's on them to decide to take things seriously or treat this as a side gig. They're entitled to be casual, Holo was designed to be casual but we forget that, and have become entitled going "why can't you be an autist streaming 7 hours a day like ______" when looking at someone like Ayame.

Someone like Mel for example, who doesn't really stream enough to cultivate a fanbase, nor does she try to do more of what's successful/resonating with viewers to grow herself? I'm not sure how much potential there really is to explore. Her genmates like Fubuki and Haachama worked their asses off to get where they are. Ones who came on after her like Aqua and Peko also worked their asses off. Yagoo can't put a gun to her head and go "sorry about the ASMR ban but you ought to stream daily."

So in essence while there isn't revolving door turnover at Cover, while the old talents don't graduate they don't really get better chances to prove themselves either as they get smothered out by hot new talents taking the attention. Nijisanji has this effect on steroids but, compared to a year or two ago Cover used to have maybe only a fifth of their numbers but now it's up to about half.
