MapleStory 2 had a thread here for its global release, although the game quickly fizzled out and shut down sometime last year. A social sandbox like that would've been perfect, and it was cute to boot, but it just didn't live up to its potential.
Tree of Savior had some interesting class choices from what I remember, things like: Taoists, Mikos, and Shikigami summoners. I never got too into it so I can't exactly vouch for its quality, or if there would be much interest for it on the jay.
Blue Protocol is one of the only upcoming games I'm aware of, although there's no real indication of when it's going to release.
Other than those I can't think of many. MMO's seem to be a dying genre unfortunately, not many are willing to put the effort in developing such large scale games when they can make a quick buck from mobile gacha kusoge.

It was fun for 3 years of open betas and early access, but they change the entire game and its systems once a year, which caused me to give up on it myself. It has some of the best music ever though, so I still follow it.

Why do you need a whole family? Just play. The community is still decent enough that you can find a group if you need and /jp/ doesn't really chat much at all, at least not back in the day. There's probably some discord circlejerk nowadays that plays/would play though. /jp/ also has had this problem with dropping games after a few weeks no matter what, so your group would most likely quickly disperse.

>>33038184
Probably not. Guilds aren't really necessary. No one really ever did/does guild wars that much and housing is more or less dead because of the auction house and ability to build walk-in houses on your homestead now. You can make group chats to talk to people and likely will talk to them through other mediums anyway, and if you were expecting background guild chatter, you probably wouldn't get much of that from /jp/.

I'm sorry about being a blatant newfag, but maybe you should cut back on the "take it easy" thing, this board looks like Touhou themed /r9k/.

Explain Arcana Heart to me, I watched some AnimeEVO replay, and every other round was 15 seconds long, with 20 hit air combos, throws, and grapples that take half of your hp bar.
The visuals and audio look as bad as it gets, and I'm sure community is as dead as Touhou fighers, so why even play this over KoF or GG?

>I know gatekeeping is a good thing, but there are plenty of interested people who are willing to learn, and seeing a game like that just seems like a huge fuck you to most of them.
It's not a matter of gatekeeping, you just cannot take it easy and need to take your chill pills. It's not really worth answering you if you have such a hostile attitude.

As for the series, it's basically Street Fighter type combat but with a focus on vertical scrolling and air dashes/combos. The characters also use these things called arcana which switch up their special abilities. Each has a canon arcana, but you can use whichever. The arcana modify their basic speed, attack power, etc, as well as give access to unique special moves and supers. There's also a shorter mode you can go into that increases the influence of the arcana on your basic stats, changes the background, and allows you to do a ultimate move if you want. It's sort of like GG's mode when you go to do an instant kill, but just going into the mode itself enhances you so you don't have to do anything else while in it and the ultimate move doesn't instant kill people. Characters also have their own normal moves and so these combinations of characters and arcana make for a shitton of combinations, but are still mostly balanced due to the modification of the character's base stats.

One good example is the Time arcana, which makes you speedy but weaker. It lets you dash through enemies, make after images, and store up future attacks, it's special can freeze enemies in place for a few seconds and it's ultimate stops time completely outside the character for a short while, including the match timer. However the opponent will be however they were at the moment, so if they're blocking or falling, they'll stay like that and be hard to damage, on top of you being weaker and your combo damage quickly falling off to chip damage.

It's also notable that you can control a lot of slower moving projectiles while they're in mid air, making them curve up or down. You can generally stop them with other projectiles too but they have different strengths. There's a lot of typical anime/fighting game characters and some interesting characters too, like this one character, Eko, who fights with her drawings. Mostly it's her main drawing that fights, but she can send out little animals that will move at you. The tricky thing though is that instead of leaving the stage when they pass the opponent, they will start walking up the side of the screen. The series is about as wacky as GG, but you don't have to remember how to perform 500 moves and 4 different ways to cancel. Honestly, if you know how to play SF, then you could pick this series right up.

>grapples that take half of your hp bar.
This girl, probably. She's literally Zangief. Same inputs and attacks.

I'd say it's the opposite and you'd lose to anyone who could play even a bit if you were mashing. The inputs can be kind of strict to the point some people have complained it's hard to get them to work. On the other hand, most things are just typical 236 214 623 kinda stuff, with the most complicated being the Zangief 720 degree rotations.

Kept whining about how the games weren't even Japanese (not that it mattered, see pic) and Wizardy was. /vg/ was around too so threads were getting pushed off to there. Also one guy is all it takes to make a report that gets action taken. One guy bumps the whole board sometimes when it was slow and pushes off threads. Sometimes I go into general threads and report their off topic frogposts or lewdposts and they get deleted. Even if this thread isn't allowed, it's still here because no one has reported it.

If there were any MMOs to play, /jp/, would still talk about them mods or not. Sadly there are only mobile games and open world survival multiplayer.

Old and busted, sadly. A lot of people in here already played and finished the game's OG content, so it's unlikely that they want to return in the first place.

I'd have loved if they didn't cancel Mabinogi 2 and made it 2D instead of that photorealistic garbage they were trying to push. Doesn't help that Nexon has a long record of cancelling projects without improvements or anything, for whatever reasons.

People play video games for fun. The early-game, when you have nothing and have many goals to work towards, is often more fun than the mid- to late-game, where you already have a lot and each accomplishment feels less rewarding. In the end, there is no actual value to your in-game possessions or accomplishments, so it's worth sacrificing them for more fun.

It's a board game with heavy RNG mechanics, so it's a lot of fun if you're into that. If you're not, then you're probably just going to rage quit after the first three games.

The game isn't completely random however. You need to put some thought into your moves and try and "manipulate" the RNG in your favour.

Stats greatly improved. The only general that keeps shitting the posts per minute ratio is the hololive one. Other vtuber threads are comparable to your average /jp/ thread. Not saying they should stay here but, in theory, having holo general move on the new board would greatly affect the pace of the board too

You could look for pics on your phone while looking for items (?), no need to design them from memory
The most frustrating thing for me is finding a good enough item but finding out it's incompatible with your current class or can't be dyed to match the original design perfectly

That is a good idea that I tried but I felt really dirty thinking to myself "you loser can't even remember all clothing parts or hair and eye color of every touhou".
Though saying that I really don't play any games recently that have a resembling fashion equal to touhou or creators in general.

If you can find or are able to convert a 3d model to a compatible version then yes. It is meant to be played on PC if I remember correctly. Also visors always kind of cost like a console. Would rather spend double the price on a non shit FB visor if I had the budget anyway though
