so imagine you get 1000 unique words from analyzing a single episode of naruto.
if you analyze 2 episodes of Naruto will you suddenly get 2000 unique words? no of course not. maybe you'll get 1100 or something

so if I just did 1000/1 and 1100/2 then i'm saying a 2 episode version of Naruto is somehow twice as easy as the 1 episode version of Naruto. obviously this is putting wayyy too much undue weight on the # of episodes. so I take the log of the # of episodes so it grows logarithmically similar to how # of unique words grows logarithmically

kanji.garden: wanikani but better unless you like stupid mnemonics. just shows you the radicals, and gives you dictionary definitions for words instead of single keywords. you get a free month to learn as many kanji as you want with no limits, after that it's paywalled. but if you have to do it on a website you can try this
kanjidamage anki deck: is free, teaches radicals, skips useless kanji, has stupid mnemonics in a different way than wanikani's. main downside is that there are occasionally typos, but you'll recognize them by the point that it matters.

a lot of people seem to recommend rtk but I fail to see any reason to do it as opposed to other options. it doesn't teach you any vocab with the kanji and doesn't even teach you the readings for the entire first volume of it. with other options you learn vocab while you learn the kanji so you will speed through core decks when you've already seen the kanji

I think it's an excellent supplement. I do Anki for Vocab, Genki for Grammar, WaniKani for reading kanji. It keeps my lazy dopamine deprived brain engaged enough to do 40mins of Kanji every day.

Because it's retarded compared to western languages, you have to listen to the whole damn phrase before understanding what they actually want to say, typoglycemia doesn't apply to japanese, too many useless kanjis with too many different meaning and sounds, the retarded use of onomatopoeias as talked about before, and the general sentence structure.
