He's a nice guy, tries to be inclusive of English viewers, just remember that he speaks 90% Japanese in normal streams.

Miyabi is an acquired taste for most since his content can be classified as more calm and girly, but I'm glad he's sort of found his niche and gets consistent views these days. I think the biggest obstacle on improving Astel's shotcalling is that there's nobody to teach him. For most teams he gets into, he's easily the best and most experienced player they have, so he ends up doing it because he has to, not because he wants to; Astel's always been very vocal about disliking the role. You know all these english learning streams the girls have been doing, got me thinking: do you think any of the boys will do some/more english learning streams as well?

As far as I know, a good chunk of their fanbases are overseas (though I'm not really sure how true that is right now or if that was the case for all of them, so feel free to correct me) and some of them have put plenty of effort in learning the languaje already, I'm personally not really sure if they will (though if they do I doubt they would go the duolingo route, especially since Aruran would probably tell them that it's not all that good).

From what I have seen, most of them seem pretty content with what knowledge they have already and/or are probably too busy with other stuff to start learning more english, while the ones that do seem interested have already made plenty of efforts and know a good amount already, Aruran especially has made a pretty big effort in learning english (and I personally prefer the way he has gone about it if I'm honest), but I'm curious what you all think, especially since I know many of you know them better than I do.

From what I've seen, Miyabi's the one who struggles the most, but I keep missing the moments in his recent streams where he tries to connect with the english viewers, so his current basis, I have no clue on.

I can see Astel doing another English only APEX stream in the future, but Duolingo? I doubt it. Honestly, I want to know where he learned what he knows (aside from all the Western media he consumes) since he isn't that bad but we'll probably never get a concrete answer. That question can easily fall in roommate territory. Other than that, I really haven't put too much thought into the topic. Which now leads me to wonder if shogun also took more advanced English classes alongside with Chinese, since he is pretty much the best in Holostars and I can actually understand his pronunciation.
He is definitely not doing any sort of English only/learning streams anytime soon, though.

Miyabi still struggles with reading and some basic phrases but he'll usually ask chat how to say certain words in English and then try to pronounce it on his own before putting it into a translator and reading from there. He'll sometimes read really basic English in scs but if it's a long sentence or paragraph he'll only read the name. The best most recent example I can think of where you can see his skill level is during his cooking simulator stream where he tried his best to wing it with English instructions during the tutorial before switching to Japanese after a while.

Of the JP talents from Hololive and Stars as a whole, ranks really high, ofcourse below Coco. Probably a safe bet to say just below Haato as well, since she actually lived in Austrailia for a long while, but way closer in terms of overall usage and knowledge.

I use DeepL and Google Translate in conjunction with each other to send chat. As someone whose reps came from decades of subbed anime and karaoke, I'm in that weird scenario where I can understand the spoken language just fine, but not so much the written one. And since DeepL doesn't provide the romaji readings like Google Translate does, I copy the output there and read the romaji to proof-check if it sounds about right before sending it in chat. Downside is that it takes a bit of time and sometimes the topic has already switched by the time I'm ready to send my message.
