Hello /jp/. Continuing with our make-a-servant threads.

Archer: http://archive.easymodo.net/cgi-board.pl/jp/thread/3413958

Lancer: http://archive.easymodo.net/cgi-board.pl/jp/thread/3419611

Today we're doing Rider. See if you can find servants outside of conquerors, etc.

Servant I'm putting up on the table is barely known - he doesn't even

have a wiki page. This is probably because it's an African myth. We

all know of Greek, Asian, and European heroes. Time for something new.

I present to you, Bakaridjan Kone.

He's really strong, and may be considered almost a hax servant with

all his NPs.
First NP, is of course his horse. It's not named, but always described

as "the great white one, with the silver bit and bridle." It's as fast

as the wind, and can make very good turns as seen in one battle. I'd

say it'd be like Medusa's Pegasus, except it of course can't fly, and

perhaps slower. Rather than a beam, it just gets a torrent of wind

surrounding it.

He has two weapons, which are also NPs. A spear that "could take the

lives of two men with one throw" and a gun that "could take the lives

of four men with one shot."

Quoting from my book, "Bakaraidjan's cirtue protects him more than any

magic charm that he may wear. He radites such power that he disarms

every weapons. No spear-point or bullet can penetrate his skin."
Bakaridjan was able to disarm and stela the weaposn of an entire army

(inb4 something racist). He never uses them, but just disarms them. So

that's an NP.
As stated, no spear-point or bullet can pierce his skin. In African

myths, such things are taken literally, so Bakaridjan's NP is to

bassically be immune to Lancer and Archer classes.

In order to kill a jinn who was immune to all weapons, Bakaridjan made a wooden knife. As I said, these African myths are pretty literal. The jinn is immune to all things metal, but wood doesn't count. This NP would be something along the lines of "Metal Breaker".

The guy is an excellent servant. Will put up stats, etc later.

The three Gorgon sisters—Medusa, Stheno, and Euryale—were children of the ancient marine deities Phorcys and his sister Ceto, or sometimes (and much less probably), Typhon and Echidna, in each case chthonic monsters from an archaic world. Their genealogy is shared with other sisters, the Graeae, as in Aeschylus's Prometheus Bound, who places both trinities of sisters far off "on Kisthene's dreadful plain":

Near them their sisters three, the Gorgons, winged

While ancient Greek vase-painters and relief carvers imagined Medusa and her sisters as beings born of monstrous form, sculptors and vase-painters of the fifth century began to envisage her as a being both beautiful as well as terrifying. In an ode written in 490 BC Pindar already speaks of "fair-cheeked Medusa".[3] In a late version of the Medusa myth, related by the Roman poet Ovid (Metamorphoses 4.770), Medusa was originally a beautiful maiden, "the jealous aspiration of many suitors," priestess in Athena's temple, but when she was raped, or seduced, by the "Lord of the Sea" Poseidon in Athena's temple, the enraged virgin goddess transformed her beautiful hair to serpents and made her face so terrible to behold that the mere sight of it would turn a man to stone. In Ovid's telling, Perseus describes Medusa's punishment by Athena as just and well-deserved.

MGI: C
LCK: D
Noble Phantasm: A

Skills
Divinity: A (Pollux) / C (Castor)
Riding: A (Pollux) / A+ (Castor)
Instinct: B (Pollux)
Natural skill honed by experience as a boxer.
Magic Resistance: C (Pollux) / D (Castor)
Independent Action: C (Pollux) / C (Castor)
Signum Gemini: C
A minor ability shared by the brothers. Castor and Pollux may influence the visible properties of stars that bear their names. Seemingly not very useful other than confusing astrologists, a creative Master can still find ways to make use of this skill, such as use this to sending Morse code messages to allies to call for reinforcements in a pinch.

(Pollux' stats are slightly beefed up due to his higher Divinity, save Riding - Castor was noted as being exceptionally skilled at horse taming, though both twins were associated with horses. )

>> No.3425889

>>3425885
Noble Phantasms
Dioscuri: Shared Life, Shared Death
Rank B Support-type Noble Phantasm
The blessing granted by Zeus that allowed Pollux to share his gift of immortality with his dead brother. Normally, this allows the brothers to take turns living and being dead, but as Servants, should one of the twins die; this blessing, the connection between the twins, and the loophole that allowed the existance of two Rider-class Servants in the same Grail War can be used to effectively resummon him, provided enough mana is present. The brothers also share the same prana pool, allowing them to conserve the prana that make up their bodies instead of having it dissipate upon death, by transferring it to the other twin with a link similar to the one between Master and Servant.

As befitting their birth, the resurrected brother hatches from an egg, of which remaining shards also qualify as a D-ranked, one-use defensive Noble Phantasm, not effective in battles against other Servants but perhaps useful for shielding a Master from harm.

Cyllaros and Harpagos, Gifts of Olympus
Rank B Anti-Unit Noble Phantasm
Two seperate Phantasmal Beast horses that serve as the steeds of the twins - Cyllaros belongs to Castor and Harpagos to Pollux. Chosen by Olympians, they are remarkably strong for their kind but still low on the Phantasmal Beast hierarchy. They are used more for mobility advantage and leading Transvectio Equitum than their own strength.

Transvectio Equitum, March on for the Twin Brethen
Rank B+ Anti-Army Noble Phantasm
The march of Roman horsemen in honor of the Dioscurians. Requires Castor, Pollux and their mounts present, risking the safety of the twin Servants - Dioscuri cannot be used if one twin doesn't survive to maintain connection. Unlike Ionian Hetairoi which summons a battle-ready army, Transvectio Equitum is more of a symbolic march and the soldiers are representations of the Roman equites instead of actual, sentient eirei. Opposing Servants thus are more in danger of getting trampled by the legions of horsemen instead of getting directly attacked, though Castor and Pollux can and will lead the march (for about 30 minutes at maximum capacity) to seperate and/or corner foes.

An ox raised by Bunyan from childhood. It has handily braved the coldest weather Gaia had to offer, and has been given a supernaturally blue coat in recognition of this feat. Is it possible he could have a NP somewhat similar to Gate of Babylon? Nowhere on it's scale of course. But I think Blackbeard might've picked up a few weapons in his booty.

Technically, anyone can have Gate of Babylon. It's just a tiny key-sword. The function of the treasury just depends on what the holder of the sword owns.

And if all of Gil's other possessions got handed off (except Ea) after he died, who's to say the little dagger didn't wind up in a chest somewhere?

Every other weapon of legend was Gilgamesh's and damn near all of them got pawned off somewhere (maybe there was an unlucky spear or two who never saw the light again) so a tiny dagger could find its way somewhere too.

The description for Gate of Babylon ~ King's Treasury implies that anyone can use it, and it's not a Noble Phantasm unique to Gilgamesh.

Well there's the obvious choices of Ghengis Khan and Atilla the Hun.

I'd be tempted to go with Atilla as there's this interesting story where apparently the Pope had to bribe him not to sack Rome, but then spread the story that a pair of Archangels appeared and turned him away.
You could combine the two so that the Pope bribed Atilla with the services of the two Archangels, so that he has a noble phantasm where he can summon them both.

Also, don't forget that legendary animals and artifacts can become heroes as well.

Lu Bu would make a kick-ass Rider, well come to think of it Lu-Bu would make a kick-ass anything, he pretty much qualifies for almost all of the classes aside from Caster.

He was one of the paladins of Charlemagne and had the sword Durandal. He also had a semi-famous horse and I'm also pretty sure there's a legend going about that he also had the Longinius as well.

Here's his wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland

If he's summoned as a rider, then I suppose his primary NP would be Veillantif his horse. But there isn't much to it other than being 'swift' and 'vigilant'.

My guess is he'd get Durandal and Longinius as his primary NP's, as well as the ability to summon Veillantif, who would be an B class steed.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned that the current era is shit tier for grail heroes elsewhere too.

I think a large part of it is the Magic Association and the Church are heavily supressing the use and existence of magic and magic artifacts.
Whereas in the ancient age you have Perseus walking about with weapons personally donated to him by the gods, Rama being the avatar OF THE MOTHERFUCKING HINDU GOD OF PERFECTION, Dragons everywhere and the gods having sex with mortals (and just about everything else I'M LOOKING AT YOU ZEUS) and spawning half divine bastards everywhere.

Very possibly. It depends what Archers future was like, some sort of magic armageddon that results in the Association and the Church throwing their hands in the air and going "Fuck it: MAGIC KNIVES FOR EVERYONE!" would likely result in some high tier heroes for the grail again.

It's just that we don't get a caliber of hero in the current age that meets the Grail's obviously highly strict criteria.

Fierbois - Untarnished Chapel Blade (C) (Anti-Personnel)

A sword which rallies for the charge. This is the sword which the maiden wielded. It can cause no harm to a living foe, as the maiden swore to never take a life. Against those who have already died, it is like anathema to touch it.

Its light is not a thing of destruction, like the supreme noble sword, but one that empowers the wielder. Strength and Agility are increased in the charge, and the sword becomes even more effective against spiritual and magical phenomena. Can never harm a living soul. Not a supremely strong noble phantasm, but rather one intended to be used repeatedly.

"Jhesus-Maria" - Eternal Standard of the Maiden (A+) (Anti-Army)

Those pledged to the maiden answered her rally in the field of battle. A symbol beyond all others, it alone inspired glory of allies and derision by enemies, all because of one girl inspired by God.

In its passive state, those sworn to the maiden will act in combat erratically, appearing as wraith-like attacks against opponents and in acts of defense for Joan.

When invoked, it calls back all those who swore for and against it, bending time to return to the battlefield again. In this fierce melee, there is no friend, and everything may attack you. The attackers are not on the level of heroic spirits, but they, as spirits, can affect spiritual bodies, and there are so many of them. The maiden, alone, rides through nearly uncontested.

You could, there is nothing that says that it can't be that way and still be a monarchy. It have not been all that uncommon for kings to make other empires and kings their vessels. As their vessels they were still kings and was allowed to rule their country as before, as long as they always followed the words of the main capitalof the kingdom.

That really depends on the kingdom. Gilgamesh's kingdom most likely was combined with lots of smaller vassal kingdoms.

But you are wrong, vassaled kingdoms are very much so their own kingdom, it is just that they share borders with both the other kingdom.

If Kingdom A would be stronger than Kingdom B and if it had Kingdom B as its vassal, then Kingdom A would share its borders with Kingdom B and Kingdom B would share its borders with Kingdom A.
A part of Kingdom A's recources would go to Kingdom B and most of Kingdom B's recources would go to Kingdom A.
Kingdom B would still have freedom and would be allowed to rule however they wan't as long as it wouldn't be a bother to Kingdom A.
Kingdom B would even be allowed to vague war and expand its terretory as long Kingdom A wouldn't have a special reason to intervene..

>King expands his territory.
What? Are you implying that would be some kind of requirement? Sure a King who never expanded the terretory wouldn't be that much of a king but he would still be a King none the less.

I disagree. And she's only weak if you expect to use her like Arturia. Plan up a bit, try and keep her from rushing headlong to engage the enemy in religious fervor, and surprise the enemy with her noble phantasms.

Magic Resistance + Fierbois = Good Magic Defense
Riding Bonus + Fierbois + Jhesus-Maria passive = Decent-to-good Attack
Jhesus-Maria passive = Surprise Defense Save

Pressure with Jeanne, hope the master joins in, then pop Jhesus-Maria. In the ensuing hilarious confusion, rush the master and kill him, or hope the master gets killed by random French ghost.

Just find out who has an instant kill, and then try to prevent them from using it or let them get killed by someone else.

Theoretically speaking, of course. The whole point of my theoretical grail war was that Jeanne was actually pretty low-tier overall, but had the capacity to stand up against the uber Caster of the war (Solomon) and defeat him, making herself pretty much "do not want to fight" for the rest. Then, Jeanne rests for a bit and you plan out what to do.

What I mean by weak is that she isn't good at fighting as you said. She's a leader.

Caster - Solomon (obviously, the guy is summoning demons using his ring of contract. Jeanne isn't going to be happy with HERESY)

She can't be a Saber specifically because she lacks the attributes to be one. Rider is a reserved slot for those that were known for their prowess in riding, and, seemingly by proxy, military command. Jeanne d'Arc was usually mounted, rallying her troops with her peculiar standard.

My point is that Jeanne gets a special mount consideration in that any mount she rides is automatically considered legendary by shared inspiration as God's chosen tool of deliverance. Sort of like Lancelot's "by association" noble phantasms. Anything she rides will automatically become "the mount of the maiden."

The classes have requirements. Saber has a strength/agility (I think agility) as well as Mana requirement. Assassin has the "must be Hashashin" one. Berserker requires that the person have been insane at some point in their life. Rider requires, ostensibly, some affiliation with riding.

Archer is normally reserved for those with multiple noble phantasms operating at range. Lancer is actually any fighter that operates at mid range, not necessarily with a lance alone, and is agile. Caster requires magical usage.

Avenger is a fake class that summoned a normal human who was called "all evils of the world." It's a fucked up glitch that shouldn't have even existed.

Ok, I get you. Make that her NP as well then. Whatever she mounts becomes divine and on the level of a phantasmal beast (that's rank A I believe).

>King of Kings is a pretty pathetic title.
That title becomes far more extraordinary when the kingdom was more or less the whole world covering around 95% of the populated world.
Gilgamesh was basically the king of the world when he ruled.

>King of Heroes is humanity's first hero
Being humanity's first hero generally makes you a herom not a king of other heroes.
But since Gilgamesh could have lots of different title's really, because of how "great" his kingdom was.

And regarding being the "first" kind of thing. While Gilgamesh actually expanded the kingdom and was among the greater ones of the rulers of his kingdom, he had tons of relatives who ruled before him. One different special thing with Gilgamesh though was the fact that he was the first demi-god in the hierarchy as opposed as full gods as the ones before him.
But gods can't be servants now, can they.
Gilgamesh became more famous than his relatives though, mostly because of how he stood up against other gods and so on, but still.

EX-rank means "unmeasurable powerful/divine." It is beyond any true measurement, so you are basically ranking that ability as "infinity plus." There would be no greater legends to overcome it in the first place.

But she was a pretty bad swordsman. She's only good for using her decent sword to throw the enemy off of her and make them cower in fear. Can't kill people, either.

>unless phantasmal beasts are included, which they aern't

Now, how can you know that?
Noah probably had dinosaurs and shit on the Ark, and if we were to say that phantasmal beasts have existed at all, then he would probably have those on his Ark as well.

Then if one would wan't then I guess that one would make Noah able to summon Leviathan, Behemoth and Ziz.
Now those 3 are quite special and the myths regarding them are actually a bit seperated from the same religion/myth tree as Noah but if Noah would be able to summon them as well then his Noble phantasm would be A++ by far.

I've come up with Blackbeard's somewhat version of GoB.

He's buried treasure all over the place, and doesn't remember exactly what is what. For his NP, he opens a treasure chest and what's inside is one of his random treasures.
It could be just gold and jewels, which is useless for battle.
But it can be magic charms, amulets, etc. and even NPs he's gathered, ranking from E-A.
Sad thing is, he doesn't know how to properly fight with them. He'll know the NP's abilities, since that's like "engraved" into every NP. But for example, a lance, he won't know how to properly use.

Haha, I can see that happen.

The man in his tattered coat reaches behind him. The world shifts, connecting him to a place even he doesn't remember. Reaching in, he grabs a hold of what is inside. This is the Noble Phantasm of the man who was once feared as the greatest scourge of the sea. The man who buried over a thousand treasures of varying value and power, and forgot where they were. The man once known as Blackbeard.

"X Marks the Spot."

-Hidden Treasure: Blackbeard's Booty
Rank: E-A
Blackbeard is infamous for plundering an pillaging legendary amounts of treasure. Gold, jewels and many other valuables, including magic artifacts, weapons and armour - even on the level of Noble Phantasms.
A treasure chest is summoned and within is a random portion/item of Blackbeard's treasure.
Can only be used every 100 turns (No idea what a 'turn' is, but whatever).
