I wish it had the songs from X. I like the toon shader stylistically, although the hair looks a little unpolished. I think it would have been improved by the pet Vocaloid features from Project Mirai. Never touched the joycon mode, couldn't be assed. Overall had a lot of fun, got perfects on the songs I care about.

Yeah, if you put it on a canvas you can just read the channels as 24bit RGB and save them as .opus. Even something like ctx.getImageData(0, 0, c.width, c.height).data will do the job, although you probably have to remove alpha channel from it.

Well, that's not a problem. You can just convert any array or buffer into blob and generate an url for that blob that you feed into <audio> element.
However after a bit of coding I realized the original image is 16-bit sRGB png. That's quite unfortunate because browser's canvas is always 8bit RGBA, and you can access image's pixel data only through a canvas, losing every other byte. Unless you write your own pure-js png parser or something, but it's not as simple as getImageData feeded into a blob.

I find new songs by checking every video that was uploaded to niconico during the previous week and tagged as vocaloid. This has been my method for a little bit over a year now and I've been a vocaloid enthusiast for around two years. This way I can make sure that there are no songs that fly under my radar, that I could potentially like no matter what the viewcount is. I have a song on my list that has 57 views currently, but it's so well made it could have 50k easily. I was also there when Kanaria first uploaded Hyakkisai and I can clearly remember listening to it and thinking that this will be a huge hit in a few days. The only downside to this is that it takes 4-5 to five hours and not every week is bountiful in harvest, but when they are it's definitely worth it.

It's five hours only if there was an event (birthday etc.) that week. Usually I split up the process, first I open every song in a new tab without listening to them, then listen to them one by one, because I don't have premium on niconico. This way you can do the new tab part in roughly two hours before you go to bed than listen to the songs the next day. It's hard to tell, they have a voice modulator called cherry pie, so they could get someone good at imitating Miku (like Saki Fujita herself) and just emulate the (NT) engine. This way they don't have to bother with tuning.

Youtube is an evil, greedy corporation and their goal is to corrupt and censor. Google is one of the top evils on the planet.
