That has already happened, but I'm personally not that let down by it. The right approach is to do what >>35321800 says and make sure things are right so people don't flay you over it but it's inevitable on /jp/. But it sucks that I can not personally vouch for it because I had other people do the translations and I only did the technical side of things and recruiting the translators and editors for the project. The only downer is I still haven't heard any reasoning behind why the translation may be bad which is probably the worst part because the criticism are unsubstantiated and I rather valid criticism than needing to ignore comments hurled my way that just says it's bad. I released the 1st day patch in part to get feedback but it's been almost 9 years ago and I haven't seen a good breakdown in that period of time.

Is there any explanation why MangaGamer is so against pandering to chinks compared to literally every other publisher out there? I know they translated a few Chinese ones here and there, but I think they should do it more often. It seems like easy money.
I'm looking at Eiyuu * Senki Gold on steam and KaguraGame worked on the chink translation which means it will be a guaranteed hit. Same goes for Kinkoi, just look at it compared to Jeanne at the Clock Tower.

In my opinion if a work is released on its own and is not clearly part of a series, I consider it to be standalone and finished. If the author continues it himself, I'll see what it is and incorporate it partially if I think it's good. If someone else continues it, it gets more dicey. So the Muramasa FD is written by the writer of Demonbane, who is a writer I don't respect in any sense, so I don't care what it's about. It might as well not exist, just like all the other Muramasa material (on a sidenote I've also heard a lot of bad things about the FD). Another example: I consider Star Wars a standalone movie and Empire and Jedi as kind of tangential nonessential sequels. The rest of the films don't exist to me. I don't say that to represent myself as a Star Wars fan, because I'm not, but just for illustrative purposes.

I didn't know it was going to be that short. I used to think that I liked Nitroplus but as I read more of their games I realized that I didn't and that I just liked specific writers who happened to work for them at some point. For example I've also disliked everything I've read by Shimokura Vio. As I get older I feel like there are really just a handful of games that are special to me, and not much else sparks interest for me anymore.

I don't really actively play vns but I've wanted to read for some time now. The most notable I've played were Maitetsu (unlocked 2 routes) and Nekopara back in 2014. I'm a big time lolicon but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm exclusively interested in loli vn but I would consider that a plus.

The Day After was originally released in the Muv Luv chronicles series, a collection of various stories. Chronicles 04 included both TDA 03 and Last Divers. Last Divers was 2 hour long segment explaining the backstory of a TDA character and setting up another character that reappears in the main plot. Pic related is the very last screen of Last Divers.

When they decided to take TDA out of Chronicles for the steam release, they didn't include last divers. There simply isn't an offical english release of it. They have never made a statement about it so it is unclear if they forgot, were too lazy to do it, or want to charge additional money for it later. Either way if you're a paying customer you've either been waiting 5 months for news, or you aren't even aware the thing exists at all. I have seen people theorize about how certain things could get explained in a TDA sequel, except Last Divers already gave the answers in 2013. They're just not selling it to steam users. It was 0 adult content in it if you're wondering about that. TDA will cost you 60 bucks on steam by the way (it is currently on sale).

Avex, a japanese conglomerate bought âge a few years back, after the kickstarter. They own everything now. All the shit that is being excluded out of steam releases is present in the age 20th anniversary box set, which will cost you 350 bucks and includes most of their entire catalog running on windows 10. It includes all the porn. One single actual âge dev went through all of those games and hacked them one by one to run on windows 10. This box set was released in 2019 and can still be bought.

While the steam games are technically both japanese and english releases, they're clearly intended to scam Gaijins and poor people. Even the anime is being made by a studio Avex owns. The actual âge development team has pretty much 0 power over the IP or how it is handled at this point, to a level where the main franchise writer wasn't shown the anime character designs before the trailer was revealed. He also said on twitter that he can only protect/ensure the quality of the actual VNs being made, nothing else. Which I'm pretty sure isn't even true because they could just fire him and get somebody else.

In the time it has taken to translate Eustia I've become proficient enough at moon to start reading it myself, abandon it around the St. Irene arc because it looked like the patch would be out in just a few more weeks, realize I'd dropped it for more than a year, and finally resign myself to the fact that it'll probably come out in 2023 or something, and finish the rest of the vn in a few days.
I won't mind if the translation turns out to be subpar, with fan translations where people collaborate out of passion in their free time that kind of thing is to be expected, I do mind people dragging their feet and making misleading promises for attention.

Since all of Laplacian's unreleased titles will be all-ages only in the west going forward, does this mean Nekonyan's release of Future Radio will be censored too? Also I'm very confused as to why Nekonyan would let them post something like that before they've even released Future Radio given that it means there's no reason to purchase the title even if it's uncensored because everything in the future released by that developer will be censored in the west. All of the content that was "removed" was kept in the game files but was obfuscated, requiring you to find the file, rename it, and restore the pointers for it so that it can be accessed normally ingame. All the patch did was take someone who already did all that and disseminate it to everyone else. Anyone who downloaded the JAST release could've done it themselves if they knew how without any external downloads. It's not like the Starless patch where the files were outright removed from the title and could only be restored via an external download.

I haven't followed any of MG's releases in the past 2 years because they've been pretty terrible titles for the most part. I just know for a several year period in time almost all of their Nukige were censored and almost all of their plot titles were censored and when people asked them about it they more or less told people to fuck off. I have no idea if that's still the case but during that period where I was paying attention to their releases almost everything was either censored, all-ages or female/gay focused steam titles. None of which interested me in the slightest. I think the only titles of theirs I've read in the past 3 years has been Beat Blades Escalayer which was fucking terrible, Maggot Baits which was enjoyable, and two of the Funbag Fantasy's which I did enjoy the story of but the H was super boring and generic since every scene is the same and there's almost no variety in the heroines from an H-scene perspective. They all have overly massive tits and do the exact same things with them. Enjoyable the first 10 scenes, very boring the next 80.

It's an all-ages console re-release of the original +18 version. Rather than create a "definitive" version for the western release that includes all the new and old stuff, they're telling westerners to go fuck themselves and they have no intentions on releasing any adult material in the west going forward. It's the muv-luv fiasco all over again where the japanese fans have access to all the original releases that are +18 and access to the modern all-ages re-release but western fans only get the shittier all-ages versions with a bunch of content stripped out of it with "New" CG's to replace all the ones they removed, except they removed far more than they end up adding in.

I personally hope it gets Evenicle 2'd so they don't have anywhere to sell the title and are forced to create a definitive version for both western and japanese audiences.
