you're just retarded. if something can be opened with libre software, there's no reason not to do it. copyright is a different issue from being free/libre.

anime can be pirated and played with libre video players (vlc, mpv)
books can be pirated and opened with libre readers (zathura)
the only real problem is VNs. because they contain nonfree code, you can't play them without executing it. you can execute a VN inside a sandbox or a virtual machine to avoid spyware/malware affecting your PC, but the code still gets executed. your only option is to only play libre VNs but there aren't many of them.

I've been steadily grinding 20 words a day and with previous experience from university classes, I'm currently able to recognize about 220 (and growing at this rate) with relative ease, and I only picked up studying again literally a week ago (studied ahead a bit). If I keep up this pace I'll be at 2,000 words within 80 days and 6,000 within 280.

I'm reviewing Genki I and II again and am going through an entire chapter a day while taking notes, and afterward I'll move onto an N3 grammar book. Maybe Kanzen Master or otherwise if anyone has a good suggestion.

>>35523868
I've already started reading からかい上手の高木さん and allegedly it's an N4 level book. It's very fun and I plan on making mangacards after 2,000 words maybe tabun.

>Claiming that 先生 is pronounced only as either ええ or えい, is not necessarily wrong. The reason being is that some people will not make the distinction between surface forms and underlying forms (as far as I understand things). The underlying form for Yamato morphemes is always /eR/, the long vowel, and every native speaker holds this form as part of their mental vocabulary. However the spoken surface form is subject to acoustic variation, which exists in continua, making it harder to distinguish an [ee] from an [ei] reliably for all speakers

Standard Japanese is just an artificial dialect mostly based on a variety of accents and ways of speaking common in the Kantou region of Japan. Nowadays, every single dialect spoken in Japan has some influence from that modern standard dialect because of mass media predominantly originating in the Tokyo metropolitan area, which is used as a model by newscasters and voice actors elsewhere in the country.

yeah i'd be willing to bet big money that 99% of people itt (and in the larger learning community) don't know japanese grammar as it is taught in japan by japanese people for japanese people (which is *very* different from how it is taught in all english resources which i have seen)

like, the concept of "conjugation" is taught completely differently
>食べさせる
>食べられる
>食べない
>食べぬ
>食べよう
>食べまい
>食べたい
>食べたがる
>食べた
english resources would treat all of these as single words which are "conjugations" of 食べる, whereas in japanese grammar the word 食べる in all of these ends at 食べる's 未然形, i.e. 食べ, with e.g. られる being a separate auxiliary verb

http://xn--vcs415akpfnn7a.com/
^i know this second url looks dodgy as fuck but it's because the actual url is written in kanji ( http://国語文法.com/ ) and that's what happens when you make it into a working hyperlink

kokugobunpou is the better made site by far, lots of repetition and everything is presented in an easy to understand way, but the guy who made the site isn't a qualified nihongoist or anything and when asked what he based the info on the site on he didn't respond. what he did say is that he put the site together for his own sake to help him memorize the information (kinda like why namasensei made his japanese lesson videos).

the second site on the other hand professes to be made by an actual japanese teacher so is probably more trustworthy. both only cover 中学生 level grammar, but that's fine since that's typically all the english guides out there cover as well.

i'm not aware of any other resources besides these, and if you don't already know japanese at a decent level then you are fucked and will have to stick with eop garbage and then correct your understanding of japanese grammar later (if you care)

There's lots of basic stuff you find in everyday speech not explained in TaeKim. He doesn't explain that たら and と can and are widely used to indicate chronological sequences, alternate uses of volitional, the fact that of the four or so usages of によって he forgets the one that's used the most, and so on...

the point is that you don't *need* to have these things explained you can just pick them up

Another one that bothered me is how he says that the し particle is akin to ので or から. That's one thing that bothered me the most when I first studied it, it took me reading from other guides to realize that it just to add another phrase to one's argument.

tae kim is just way too long winded and his "bad example" sentences are really bad, dont include those

Actually your anime is proprietary as the very image itself is most likely created with proprietary software with no way to disect the drawings from source. AAC encoded audio is also proprietary (Apple, WinAmp) and you should delete all your anime from your hard drive as nonfree code has the potential to install malware on your computer at any given moment
J-drama is also likely edited and mastered by proprietary software (e.g. Adobe products) therefore you are basically consuming proprietary non open source content by watching a J-drama too.

Books may be distributed in the proprietary Adobe PDF format however most are in EPUB but have modifications done to them by a proprietary program. Please make sure your epubs are not tampered in anyway by any non-FLOSS program.

Visual novels can be run with fully open source software Wine, don't be retarded faggot.

That's like saying Windows OS and Windows OS-lite are two different operating systems because of the suffix "lite" The idea is that ぬ modifies 食べる to alter the meaning of the word, not make it a different word. I have no clue why people think the way you do.
