Anyway, the core problem isn't vtubers, they're just a symptom. The core problem is that the particular aspects of otaku culture which you enjoy do not attract enough traffic to be the majority (and eventually plurality, if not already) of content on a board with such a general theme. If jpop was as hype as kpop was, you'd have more than half the catalog filled with AKB-style threads burying slower threads as well.
If you're concerning yourself about demographic and stylistic change over time on a website as effervescent and as 4chan, I can guarantee you're going to be upset no matter what that tranny jannies do. Because ultimately it's news anons coming in and giving more collective fucks about things you don't like than things you do, and futaba-style imageboards pander to that by design.

The thing is that exactly because the vtuber fandom is so immense and incompatible with /jp/, they were given their own board, but they refuse to move there and the moderation doesn't give a shit about enforcing its usage either so they take all possible chances to piss on /jpee/. Which go completely unpunished also because of that moderation who seems to care more about protecting them than anything else.
moot said it himself something along the lines of /jp/ being a board for Japanese/otaku subjects that don't have their own board. Well, vtubers do have a board now. So the solution is very simple.

You're arguing from the standpoint that change should happen when it was and still is forced.
The board generally does not want them here; forcing them here not only creates more problems but causes more work in the long run.
The board showing distaste is more than just one specific group not liking something as you want to selfishly believe. In the months leading into December, I looked back into the archive to see what people were saying; they generally don't give a shit about them. The obnoxious behavior being displayed only pushed them to wanting the new posters gone; something that people unanimously agreed on, yet nothing was done.
The next time you want to whine about the site being dead, remember that you are the one who wanted it to pander to so called new posters.
They want the board at peace, and this is the opposite of it.
If activity is the issue, then I say this. Who gives a single flying fuck if the board is slow. There are slower boards, there are faster boards. There are boards like /asp/ that were inevitably killed off because the core userbase was drowned out, and boards like /a/ that changed to accommodate a single group that nobody wanted there. A shocking parallel to now for obvious reasons.
It extends beyond having board dominance, and people generally don't give a shit how popular something gets. What I see is someone being so obsessed with numbers that they're willing to kill the board and drown out the current users for those who agree with them, despite the board itself expressing it's opinion which is obviously often suppressed if even slightly negative.

Again, another solution as I have brought up before is to stop creating catch all boards and split /jp/ already.
