What does /jp/ think about lolicore?
The genre got pretty popular on 4chan when it was relatively new so i wonder if people here still listen or care about it.

>> No.35749631

Too niche for modern 4channers, they prefer Americans larping as Japanese people rapping on YouTube now

Yeah, seems to be the case sadly. You listen to it though?
What're your favourite albums/artists?

I got a friend who always sends me it, I also like it but not much. My favorite are some goreshit stuff.

Sometimes there's some really good stuff, but often you have to sit through a lot of pain before finding something decent, sadly
From my experience The Worst's Worst Compilation albums have been the most enjoyable

What's the difference between this and denpa?

lolicore is (usually) extreme edm that samples weeb shit. its closely related to breakcore speedcore and similar genres

heres an example
https://youtu.be/W5iTkGCqPFM

this track is probably on the upper end of how extreme it gets

>> No.35750480

Putting random words in front of "core" and calling it a genre when it's really all approximately the same noise made by someone who downloaded Audacity last week is a trend that I'm glad (mostly) died with the 00s.

Just wait untill holocore blows up.

>> No.35750796

I vaguely remember seeing lolicore music posted here before, not sure if it was with the denpa thread or what but it's how I found goreshit. I've seen it have another blowup recently, or at least somewhat because it's hard to tell these kind of genres apart.
Also the "scene" kind of scares me so I pretend it doesn't exist.

Lolicore is genuinely one of my favorite genres since I'm a huge breakcore/speedcore enthusiast. I'm glad someone else knows it even exists.

Also, this is not /jp/ related.

So it just weebs mashing up stuff from anime into some noise and not actually stuff made by Japanese?
Why is this here? Go to /mu/ or something

It doesn't matter how you try to spin it, this board is only limited to discussion of Japanese made stuff.
>All images and discussion should pertain to light and visual novels, figures and other otaku paraphernalia, Touhou Project, Vocaloid, doujin works and music, and diverse niche Japanese interests (kigurumi, idols, mahjong, tea).
>This is the appropriate board for the discussion of Japanese visual novels and light novels. Western visual novels should be posted to /vg/, and translated visual novels are fine on either board.

I'lllisten to breakcore all day, but lolicore irritates me; granted, I'm not familiar with any 'good' lolicore tracks. Just from what I've heard, it doesn't appeal to me.

The cover OP posted is by a japanese artist, the genre started in japan but picked up popularity on 4chan

Cool, but listening to it made me feel uncomfortable after a while.
Its funny, but you feel like you're covered in grime afterwards.
