the violet evergarden movie was actually really good. i remember thinking the show was meh but i liked this a lot more. the animation and art is phenomenal, doubt there's a studio that is better at conveying emotion than kyoani tbqh. excellent VA work, some of the most believable emotional scenes i've ever seen in anime though i feel gilberts VA was miscast.

the problem i have is that the crux of the entire movie which makes it the crux of the entire story as a whole is a pretty tired cliche that's been done many times before. but it's forgivable i guess cause the character drama and moments surrounding it were good and you can really tell everyone making this cared and gave it their all

The best thing to take away from all this is that even though SnK did end up being a way different show from season 1 it was still an enjoyable watch, so what we have to decide now is whether I wait for the anime to finish or just read the manga.
