You keep them in the hamster cage any time you're not supervising them, and don't allow any sharp objects, big heights, or open water into the cage.

You just gave me an idea for a story.

Americans begin buying yukkuri to help them learn Japanese, because it's easier than getting a native speaker. Weeaboos buy a cheap one from a pet store or adopt a stray, while schools have class yukkuri, and high class yuppies have platinum badged Patches as tutors, who are smart enough to come up with entire lesson plans and learn some English.

Within a year or so of this trend catching on, native Japanese speakers are inundated by hordes of gaijin who all talk like a yukkuri. Life becomes hell, as they can no longer escape the incessant babble anywhere.

OYP has extremely specific lists of things that disqualify an image from being FF, and can also simply have its FF tag removed by a mod.

I wonder if this isn't some effort to discourage posting non-abyuse art on OYP. Judging from the commentors on such comments (of which someone named ALLWASASMUSTDIE will leave a profanity-laden comment demanding that any wasa reimus be killed), it's clear there's a distaste for FF images.

These days the "OC" is some cute art written on a notebook page, reposts/translations of art that was posted more-or-less a decade ago on Pixiv, or shitty MS-Paint drawings by the uneasy inhabitants.

Simply go to easy Pixiv or Twitter, where the still-remaining artists post their stuff. And learn the moon-runes because you'll get much better translations from self-study than by relying on their translators.

But it all depends on who's doing the art.

You know, OYP likes to call the mother a Shithead for this. But let's be honest - what mother wants to admit that the child they gave birth to has mental deficiencies?

She'll never not believe she gave birth to a perfect angel. It's just the way our brains are wired. And even if she did admit it was a buri, is she supposed to just let it die?

>> No.36958274

Yeah but yukkuri aren't humans, they're animals.

If an animal spends all of its time looking after the weak, defective offspring, everyone will die, and the species won't reproduce. It's understandable from the mother's point of view, but from the point of view of the children, it's unforgivably stupid.

IRL, there are parrots who are smart enough to use Alexa to play songs that they like, and there are tablet games which are specifically designed for cats to play.

A yukkuri could definitely use very simple tech interfaces like Alexa, or like an iPad with simple programs on it.

I suspect that there would be a market for technology products aimed specifically at yukkuri. I really find the idea fascinating, like the Android brings in yukkuri as testers to see if their new yukkuri mode OS is simple enough for a yu to use successfully.

They're animals capable of complex thought and forming complex social systems. Taking care of a buri doesn't make you a shithead, at worst it means you're too compassionate. And the KoReimus may hate it, but they also aren't wired the way mother is. We see a buri, but she "sees" her perfect angel who happens to need assistance every moment of every day. That still doesn't make her a shithead, it makes her a good mother. Perhaps too good, as it may hamper development of the KoReimus.

But if there's the ability to both raise her normal children, and ensure the survival of the buri, then it's good to attempt both.

>> No.36958880

>>36958629
Well, it all depends on perspective.

From Reimu's perspective, it's an entirely rational, appropriate thing to do; a mother should look after her children. From the children's perspective, it's selfish and ignorant, because she's consigning the rest of the family to deprivation or death simply to fulfill her own pet project. From a human perspective, it's foolish at best, selfish at worst.

>> No.36959499

>>36958880
No, from a Human perspective it's a rational and ethical action to take. Humans don't simply throw out mentally-disabled children in the trash to focus on the others.

It's not her "pet project," it's her child. There's a wire that gets flipped up in the brains of mothers that essentially goes "CHILD NEED HELP - GO HELP CHILD." It's not a conscious choice, or even a rationale one - it's an instinctual one.

As far as the idea that she's consigning her family to starvation, there's absolutely nothing in that image that suggests that. I see two dirty KoReimus.

>> No.36959836

>>36959499
Well, I'm making some assumptions here just based on the yukkuri lore

>Marisa is gone and not coming back, so the family already only has one breadwinner

>Reimu is completely delusional, and has completely stopped looking after the rest of the family as a result of her Deibu tendencies

>> No.36959935

>>36959836
>Marisa is gone
There's no evidence that there is a Marisa to begin with to provide for them.

>Not gathering enough food
We don't see how much, or the lack of, food stores.

>Reimu is delusional, Deibu tendencies
Reimu may very well be delusional, many parents have a disconnect with reality when it comes to disabled children, their perception, and the perception of others. However, there's no evidence that she's a Deibu. And even if that were the case, Deibu's still tend to provide for all or most of their children - albeit as negative role models and often at the expense of other families.

You're making a ton of assumptions, some of which are completely unfounded, and assuming the worst. Are you sure you wouldn't take it easier in the other thread?

I'd quite like a Patchy to take it easy with. A Marisa would be nice too. Being as social as they are, yukkuri seem like the kind of pet that you'd have to get several of anyway, like rats.

I'd actually like a Wasa-wasa Reimu. It's their big, bushy braids and the cheeky attitude. And wasa's need not necessarily be shitheads - merely very full of itself, but can still be quite quite caring.

I think a Wasa-Reimu, Reimu, and Marisa would be a good place to start.

Want to get a pet Remilia desu.

It would be cool as fuck having a pet that can fly, that you can actually talk to. Like just set up a little nest in the corner of your apartment and then open the doors to the balcony every morning and just let it circle the neighborhood. You have a lost pet, a ball stuck in a tree, just call the neighborhood Remi.

Obviously, the first step of badge training would be teaching it to eat regular manjuus instead of yukkuri

Abyusers end up being the most thin-skinned people I've ever seen. They go into an autistic tantrum if anyone questions the abyuse, or if the abyuse isn't to their liking. Hell, I doubt most of them really are Touhou fans to begin with. Most of the idiots I talk to on OYP don't seem to know anything about Touhou aside from whatever they can quickly google on the wiki.

I think abyusers choose Yukkuri since they're the most defenseless creatures one could create, short of the Tribbles from Star Trek. And they use them to release their most debased power fantasies because, in their life, they have none.

Which is why they get so defensive when they think they're being attacked, or get so angry when authors don't show as much brutality, or none at all, in their art. Because they're once again not in a position of control. I wouldn't be surprised if they went on to abuse real pets once the fun of imagining Yu abuse wears off.

No, you take it easy. And I'm not projecting anything. The whole of Yukkuri sub-fandom is essentially dead, and has been for a while.

And it's because those in the wider Touhou community, that are actually aware of Yukkuri, associate it with abuse and guro and decide they don't want anything to do with it OR us. So as a result we have hardly ANY new art, and only a trickle of either real high-quality moe art or super low-effort FF/abyuse. So every thread ends up just reposting the SAME EXACT ART as the last one. And we have abyusers to thank for this dead community because as far I'm aware, the only places that talk about Yus are here, OYP, and some highly autistic subs on Reddit.

And lets delve into things concerning abyuse, shall we? Did you know that when the big abyuse artists went mainstream, they summarily deleted ONLY their abyuse art? They kept all their other art, but went to great lengths to delete the abyuse shit - even going as far as asking others to delete it from community galleries, if possible. It's because, on average, your standard otaku is interested in moe art and generally detests overly graphic depictions of violence. It would KILL any chances of going mainstream if they were associated with guro art, particularly with non-otaku.

And let me ask you question: if I showed a layman this thread, they might just think we're weird/autistic and move on. How do you think they'd view the abyuse thread, or any abyuse art on OYP along with their comments section? I'd imagine it would be highly unfavorable.

I think it's safe to say that this is the much better yukkuri thread.

i wish yukkuri art had more variety. We have so many different characters but it's aways just Reimu and Marisa with the occasional Patchy Alice Flan Remi and Aya.

How? Because they're simultaneously a head and a boob shaped manjuu?

It helps that we have an abuse-containment thread, albeit it always devolves into bickering. But if that means we can all take it easy here, then I'm glad we have it.

It kind of frightens me that Yus IRL would actually look more like this than any art we've seen so far...

I like this thread better. I don't know too much about Yukkuri's, but everyone in the the other thread seems so mean-spirited, and they all seem way too excited to kill fictional things.

I love how easy the Yukkuri's take it!
