My performance in the games on any given day is affected greatly by my health. Sleeping poorly or eating poorly makes me noticeably worse. Thus Touhou is both a useful gauge of my physical and mental health and motivation to keep myself in good health (so that I can get more clears).
Aside from that, thinking about Touhou makes me happy, and I believe it has had a long-term positive effect on my well-being.
