I disagree... I still say it's not the moderation but the lack of namefield...

Take me as an example. I use 4chan /jp/ as a sort of "stress reliever"... yes I make funny posts once in a while... I draw and accomodate requests and sometimes go low, act like a retard and "troll" a bit but I still make an effort to do those things... and you know what... I wanted to take credit for what I do...

Unfortunatelly, that isn't possible without the namefield... I am an individual and I dare say I don't wan't to be lumped together with countless nameless anonymous... I someday wanted to tell stories to my grandchildren and say proudly "See that bloody Touhou Girl riddled with arrows?... that's me handywork back then." and then my grandchildren will shout "AWESOME!"

And that's precisely why /bun/ doesn't have a lot of users. Most of /jp/'s userbase consist of trolls - me included. I troll from time to time, but I can be serious when I have to. And by troll, I'm not referring to the trolls that spam, shitpost, or circlejerk. I troll more subtly .e.g., in debates I might inject certain fallacies into my arguments inorder to get a reaction from the person I'm debating. /bun/ rubs me off as being the type of place where I can't dick around with my fellow /jp/ers without feeling the full force of the banhammer.
