i came to this conclusion because anything else seems redundant. even with sentences cards - all the sentences that came before and after a new word - that let ripen the proper memory are missing. the reading on the other hand is the single thing you can and should brute force memorize.

if you test just for reading you are ALOT faster done and can get back to true immersion faster.

the last 20 levels artificially slowed you down by making you relearn kanji from the first levels as radicals
because in their system kanji can only be made up as radicals and not from a combination of kanji and radicals

if i had to do it again id just do the wanikani anki deck and delete those duplicate radicals as they show up

couple months back i told the thread the key was making things HARDER
i got rid of all machine translation or look up, and even text hooks
i began looking things up by hand, by radical or stroke number, from memory (not on a paper dictionary tho im not insane)
my ability to remember stuff was shit at the start, then shot through the roof
so did the pace at which i retained things

i strongly believe that applying progressive overload principles is the way to do anything: make things always a little harder
but eh, i have adhd and i actually find all of this very fun
its out there for whomever may benefit from it
ultimately the objective is to train the mind to develop a japanese consciousness that is completely alternative to the other language one
people who speak multiple languages know what i mean
