So I've decided to get a doll, but how do you narrow it down?

I think I spent less time shopping for a house, good electrical, good neighborhood, close to work, fucking done. But with this there are levels of realism, sizes, body types, and a range of prices and qualities.

For those that have one, did you try a cheaper one first and find you liked it enough to get a more expensive one or just went all in and hoped for it?

Any pros and cons or first time mistakes to avoid?

If you get a short doll around 130cm and under you will start having trouble finding clothes to fit your doll. You can buy kids clothes and stuff off of Aliexpress but the first option doesnt exactly have risque options and the second will take forever to ship to you. Anon here who has also been doing a ton of research on first purchase. The amount of choices are just overwhelming, I decided on a doll two times already, then waited about a week, got some more info, and changed my mind.

Here are some of my thought processes:
At first I considered Irokebijin TPE 90cm, but I realized I wanted life-size.

I then considered Aotume 135G, because I like the anime face & I consider pretty much every TPE face really ugly or creepy. But the body wasn't quite large enough nor good looking enough for my tastes, so I thought about Aotume 155H instead.

But after some research, it seems that the Aotume is a bit lower quality in terms of TPE, yet their price is a bit more. Also the orifices are listed as very short (but anons here have said they are accommodating). There is a 135cm review on TheDollChannel, and you can see that the ass is not very jiggly when smacked. That sort of put me off, but I think this is still a good choice.

I also really like the look of Irokebijin 140, but their silicone has been prone to tears so I've heard, not to mention the huge QC issues with uncured silicone.

I decided that for what I want, TPE would be the ideal material since it is cheaper, often lighter, definitely always softer and less prone to tears (unless its sinodoll / gynoid tier)

There's a JP dude on YouTube called PPC you should check out, he has a lot of knowledge for first time buyers.

So I started looking at trusted TPE brands, WM, JY, RealGirl, Piper.

Piper: really expensive for the material, and I hate all of their faces. They offer nothing special and PPC says to avoid. The 150 Jennifer looks pretty great though.

WM: Vanilla dolls imo. Their bodies are nothing special, material is just standard TPE. But they are very trusted and seems like you can't go wrong. Mid end TPE dolls.

RealGirl: As the name suggests, they are very realistic looking TPE dolls, at least for the faces. I don't like their bodies nor options as much, but in terms of heads they are the only good looking TPE heads for a decent price. THEY ALSO OFFER AOTUME HEADS ON 145CM BODY.

JY: Very similar to WM, but with much better options and typically thicker bodies, yet lighter. They offer weight reduction on many, as well as a soft no oil TPE, or an even softer & jigglier jelly TPE. Do NOT go off promotional pictures, find factory photos and compare measurements. For example, the WM 155 and JY 158 look great in promotional pictures, but look bad in actuality with really weird proportions.

Order from actual trusted vendors and not shady resellers. These chinese ripoff sites use bad quality TPE (hence the price), and according to some anon's they've gotten dick infections from using them.

Always ask your vendor to send you factory photos if you are skeptical.

If TPE, dress her up in lighter clothes and staining should never be an issue.
Get standing feet no questions asked.
You can purchase doll bodies and heads separately, and this may be cheaper depending on where you live. You can also mix and match heads with bodies, but I'd be careful, it probably won't look right if you change brands.

Fixed vs. insert vagina is also something I've been concerned with. Opting for fixed because of it overall just feeling better. Going to attempt to clean with wet rags & tampons after each use, with proper shower cleaning once in a while.

If your objective is to just have the most beautiful looking doll possible I'd go for a top silicone brand. It won't feel as soft or as natural, but it will look better for the higher price. The top brands also all have great body makeup. Consider Starpery or Sinodoll for decently priced high quality silicone.

Even if you go TPE, get an Silicone head. Those things look great and are life-like rather than doll-like.

I've been doing the same research as you and came to the same conclusion. Choosing the right doll is no easy feat. The main problem with a doll is the weight. Wanted to go for silicone but after looking at ass slaps, I was extremely turned off. After a while decided dolls weren't worth getting at all and just stick to onaholes/onahips. But then started looking at TPE bodies with silicone heads and this is the way to go. I would seriously advice to not get a silicone doll unless you want to spend like 1k extra on gel. The TPE body might get stains but I don't mind getting a new body every 1 or 2 years since it's cheaper.

The conclusion I came to was that the only dolls worth considering are: Tayu, Aotume, Starpery.

Consensus is you just can't beat TPE for feel but some silicone blends come close. I like where Piper is going with this. Zelex made a big splash with their super soft silicone. 100cm is small. Like 3.3 feet small. The new ones are getting pricey. I've found that 130cm+ is the sweet spot for form and weight.
