Thats true. For example you would have a hard time finding a single english comment under Kasamura Touta's music videos as her songs have top tier lyrics that speak directly to your heart but the song doesn't make you headbang or doesn't get stuck in your head.
By the way; lyrics were pretty helpful on my journey of learning Japanese. My first understanding of Japanese started with anime opening/ending karaoke subtitles (RIP).
If you can understand lyrics (romaji) at least a little bit, you can probably learn Japanese as well. If you desire and care for it of course.

How long have you been into Vocaloid/UTAU? I got into it around 2009 with "World is Mine". How large is your collection of music? I started downloading stuff around 2012 after I realized my interest in the genre was far more than a passing fad. I'm happy with how I've been able to refine my taste over these years, and I love looking back to see where it all started.

I first heard about Miku through my online gf (lmao) back in 2009 to "Love is War." In 2010 I did a random YouTube search of "Magnet" and came up with that song. Ive been a fan ever since.

The thing about my collection since 2010 is that my HDD got corrupted, then I switched on a USB stick.

Back then I used to download them through YouTube to MP3 (lol) now I only download .flac files, and only keep what I like. So I listen to them, and save what I like.

Mikuland first 3 events were completely free to enter, with a paid area pass(800 yen) getting introduced when it left beta(summer one so far). For the mini acoustic live performances you had to apply for a lottery, and if you won, it was 1650 yen for a ~30 minutes(3-4 songs) performance. There is a "support tier" purchase for 11000 yen, which gets you a limited item and a lantern with your name at the main venue.(this is personal support and doesn't come with an area pass or anything extra) Mikuland is usually open for 2-5 days, they hold daily livestreams from inside, you can take selfies with Miku and co.(if you catch them at the right time). Also, they usually stream the acoustic live during one of the broadcasts for those who didn't get in.
So I'm curious what 4000 yen will get people buying a ticket for this Internet Co. event.

I think I did not express myself clearly. I wanted to acknowledge that I don't belong here and won't post much so the gatekeepers don't need to shit up the thread with "You don't belong here". I also think that gatekeeping is very important (ironically enough) - it keeps communities on topic and "unwanted" individuals out.
You are right that these people keep vocaloid as a fandom afloat, but not as much the vocaloid thread on /jp/. You could well make the argument that TikTok, mainstream pop garbage and even vtumors benefit vocaloid a lot, but that does not mean we should be discussing these things here, in these threads.
The last thing that should happen is people that don't care much about vocaloid and small artists feeling "welcome" here - because they will stay, bring their friends and then we have a thread that is full with different stuff than it is now.

I - objectively - don't care much about vocaloid - I have a daki, about 10 covers and I almost exclusively listen to it - but at the same time, I don't want to visit concerts, learn japanese or go to japan, look for new artists, like my job and I don't create anything /jp/ related.
That means that the only contributions that I could make are /c/ posting (which I can do over at /c/) and posting about hoarding, which I can do on /g/ and on /hydrus/. I'll still lurk here anyways, since lurking won't hurt the spirit of the thread.
