How did you guys learn kana?
Currently I'm learning 10 new ones per day (excluding dakuten and handakuten) and once I can recognize them relatively well I add them, and the han/dakuten readings to the kana tester along with everything else I've learned, and then I test through that for a while. It seems to be working okay for me, and I'm quite enjoying myself, but I haven't been writing them or paying attention to the stroke orders.
My handwriting is extremely bad even when I'm writing English, which is my native language. When I try writing the kana out it's hard for me to even recognize what I've written.
Is this going to goof me in the long run?

i was explaining to my friend yesterday about the intricacies of the japanese learning community and how the one i frequent the most (djt) functions
i explained to him concepts such as ngmi and how people like to one up each other and call each other out and he was shocked at just how toxic the community was
but i also explained to him that because the community is the way it is that people often stick to it out of spite to prove not only themselves but the others that they will make it, and that in comparison to more open and approachable learning communities the skill level of a djt poster is higher than one who frequents /r/LearnJapanese on average
