Is Twitter good for reading practice? I like novels and dislike VNs, so I guess that's the only text-heavy option left.

While I wish I could spend hours and hours studying Japanese, I just don't have the dedication to do so.

It took me 2 weeks to learn the kana's and finally start my journey properly learning vocabulary through anki and going through all of rtk.

In any case, this might be blasphemous but I actually recommend using duolingo if you hate to learn grammar from books. I really tried to learn grammar but something inside me just really hates it. Duolingo's system of making you output sentences just makes you internalize some of the basic grammar without knowing what it really is. But I did drop it within 6 months. Cure Dolly is a good way to get a grasp on grammar too, it's in video form too so that's better for people like me who don't like learning grammar from books.

My routine after 6 months literally just became doing my Anki and trying to immerse for 40 minutes everyday (I couldn't do this consistently because I just don't enjoy content I can't understand), so I focused more on vocab. Eventually I did become more consistent with watching 1 english subbed episode of anime and watch it again in japanese subs. (I tried to watch children's shows but it just didn't work for me).

To give you some perspective on my level of japanese, I can understand the "Bite Size Japanese podcast" really well. But my reading skills are trash. My speaking is non-existent. You get what you study for. And I just mostly listened so listening is my best skill.

I definitely could be better at Japanese now, probably nearing advanced level if I went sicko mode. But I don't care for it. My goals in japanese is to just learn japanese and better myself as a person. I don't have any plans to move in the country or work there. For me it's just purely a self-bettering hobby. So for the people out there getting stressed out about learning this language, chill out.

What kind of Anki card(s) do I make for 顰める?
It's technically two different words with two different meanings. But the meanings are so close that even in most example sentences/things I read, it could really go either way. Of course I don't have a perfect understanding of the nuance, I just know what dictionaries tell me.
If I add two separate cards it'll be 50/50 if I guess the "right" meaning. If I add both readings to one card, it'll be my only card like that, and I'll forget that I need to remember two readings to pass it. Besides it would make it harder than my other cards even if I add a "two readings" on the front. And finally if I choose to "pass" the card even though I only got one reading correct, I'll just forget the other one.
