Yeah, that was me. Got tired of occlusion issues with the quest 2 controller's inside-out tracking so i tried to go the SteamVR route instead.

TPE is really soft and jiggly. But since it is porous, it does have oil that tends to leak out, so it can be a tad sticky, which attracts lots of lint, hair, fuzz, dirt, etc, so you need to clean it more often than silicone. You're worrying too much about staining. Have had TPE dolls for 3+ years now and no stains and i dress them in Aliexpress clothing and lots of dark colors.

Just make sure to test anything first on a scrap of TPE. You can ask the vendor to send you some with the doll. If something fails the stain test then soak it in hot water and detergent overnight, then put through a wash cycle and that usually cures the issue.

I have seen plenty of silicone dolls with stains as the owners got complacent, thinking silicone is immune to staining. You'll still need to test even with a silicone doll.

Nothing to worry about if you dry them. I'd assume they're coated in some rust resistant stuff. Usually the part where you attach the dolls head gets wet too (and has threads on it) and I have never had any rust form.
For your first doll, definitely get the standing feet. They're a huge quality of life improvement. I was a dumbass and got non standing ones for my first TPE doll, after the first night of standing in my closet both of the feet had holes on them that I could feel the metal skeleton from. TPE has some magical self healing abilities so the holes eventually mostly disappeared but they're still visible.

The exposed metal is the stainless steel bolts that are attached to the stainless steel foot plate. No worries about rusting, as long as the doll isn't submerged in water constantly.

TPE weighs more in general. Piper TPE is very low maintenance compared to other TPE. Oil maybe once or twice a year. It smells like flowers.

A silicone doll will weigh less than a TPE doll does if it's not solid silicone and is instead silicone over a foam core

The standing feet differ depending on the silicone and TPE versions. TPE has exposed bolts that you need to dry while the silicone just has a harder material to make it stand

I'd need some way to mount her on my motorcycle so we can go on rides but I am afraid of the weight shift if she isn't mounted good on there somehow. Seems like an accident waiting to happen. Could probably rig up something and attatch to hard sidebags.

is the flycase option on hgdolls worth it? It looks like a container for a doll, which should be safer than cardboard packaging?

I got my irokebijin a few days ago and the box had water damage on it and the box actually had a hole in it where you could see the collar bone of the doll. It's like $500 for the case but I'm not sure how common my experience is, it seemed to happen after it arrived in my state as the box was still wet.

If there was a way to secure to the seat it would be fine. It would be easy to compensate for the weight like another rider, but if it's all over the place and it would interfere with my riding, I don't think that would work. But would be really really fun to go on rides though.

I got mine from dollto-china and it was a little bit more expensive than other sites but they had really good feedback and I can vouch that their customer service is really good. Having the flight case as a storage option also crossed my mind but not for $500, I'll probably try to find something similar for way cheaper. $200 seems like a decent price if we're talking about the same black looking case.
