I kinda fell guilt not taking Aurica path at the start of phase 2 because she have nothing at that stage.

I tried to beat Mir in the crescent chronicle and did pretty well but always was a turn or three away from beating her. What happens if you kill her?

Same here. Cross-Edge is my first time seeing the AT1 characters. I like Aurica, but that's mostly because she's your only healer at the beginning of the game. She's practically required, game is total bullshit difficulty wise.

Marie. She learns Athena's Balm if you level Uni to 2 to get Toadstool Powder, and then level Toadstool Powder too 3. It cures status ailments, too, but it's a bit more expensive than Aurica's Warming Life. It takes a long time to level skills in this game.

I'm keeping Aurica for now because she's the only playable character so far who can revive allies; she can revive more than one, too, if they're within range. Looking at a guide I learned that Miko can revive, too, but she has to level one of her moves to do so and she can't even use the move because none of the weapons I'm getting allow her to equip it. Dammit.

Is the choice at the VERY end (i.e. before the last battle) or near the end? I wouldn't want to make a choice, then save and find out it changes the ending and I'd need to replay. When would the "other route" begin? Also is there New Game+, it would suck if there isn't NG+.

the choice for the final 2 endings occurs after the credits roll. and from seeing the misha/shurelia choice the ending didn't really change much either way.

The choice is AFTER the last battle. And it just modifies the ending a bit.

The game has 3 phases. Each phase took me roughly 10 hours. The route decision is at the beginning of the second phase and it modifies the story significantly. The end is still the same, but you get other events and such.

Although if Misha learns a heal, too, that would be awesome since she has either the first or second-highest INT in the party (according to a guide I read, and the stats I saw on her in-game seem to agree), and all of her attack skills use INT, making her a powerful mage. She has great Luck, too, although neither the game nor the manual quite say what it does.

I didn't finish it yet. I'm at phase 5 (out of 5) and 31 hours of game time. I expect to clear it once under 35 hours.

2 routes, 4 endings if I'm not mistaken. I had to choose the route at my 8th hour of gameplay. You can get 3 of the endings by saving right before the last boss. The downside is that you can't advance much on the girls' cosmospheres because passing level 5 means getting locked onto that girl's ending.

AT2 is almost entirely different:
-up to 2 reyvatails (as opposed to 1) and 2 guards( as opposed to 3)
-combo magic, spells aren't limited, spells can change depending on the levels of harmonics, care, burstech, or synchro.
-much longer

-more fuck ups from NISA though, and a game freezing glitch on a certain boss
-defense is timed button pressing

Although I think the fact that NISA fucked it up with bugs (the one about the mandatory boss is especially glaring) and half of the voices are gone are one of the things making me hesitant to buy, even though I really want to. Though I hear they're fixed in the European version.

I think Gust should have re-release the first two games together (either as physical copies or PSN download) to coincide with the upcoming release of AT3.

the first route split comes early, (think I was level 15ish):

It's either:
Protect Cloche
Protect Luca

picking one will lock out the other's ending, but you'll still have 3 endings to pick from. going further than level 5 in a cosmosphere will lock you into that girl's ending so you basically play the rest of the game with level 5 magic until the last save point.

in summary:
don't go passed level 5 in any cosmophere -> cocona ending
go into level 6 of cloche/third reyvatail/luca's cosmosphere -> their respective endings

it's Raki, mecha angel type thing. you basically have to beat him in 3 turns or he does a move that will crash the game(if unpatched). from what I remember the glitch doesn't happen till late in the game, the first time you fight him you automatically lose either way.

My advice is to read the retranslation blog. They give you a general sense of exactly how NISA fucked up the translation. When you realize that Croix is supposed to be super polite all the time, you can safely ignore the instances when he says wildly out of chracter things.
