-Be consistent, try to upload something art related once every day or every two days. It can be wips or something
-Draw always more or less the same thing. People will be shown that thing and your followers will then see your art when looking for it. They will arrive at you when looking for it, and will follow you because of it. Sounds logical but it has several implications. If you draw FOTM bitches your audience will grow and expect FOTM bitches. If you draw coom your audience will expect coom from you. If you draw 2hoes your audience will expect 2hu from you. Thanks for the kind words! To be honest I'm really bad with colors, and I've been focusing mostly on drawing lately rather than rendering or coloring. And lineart that's just thin that you don't plan to color is just plain, which is why to make it stand out you have to either color it or make the lines more varied and stylized

Regarding your OC drawings, if you drew a lot of pics there, if I were you i'd just compile them in a single pic and post them here. Nothing wrong with that. In fact I think that you should show it too

I think that if you get that level of realism the hairline should be more irregular so it feels as if the hair comes out of the head instead of looking like a wig, although maybe you already planned to do so in the face coloring.
nta but I guess that even if it's just a bit of slimming the lines as you go lower than the ears could help, you don't have to go full circle+inverted triangle but a bit closer to that shape to reduce emphasis on the jaw.... although caucasians tend to be a bit square headed in general I have to admit.
Drawing good lines for the head is tricky, any minor variation can change a lot how you the head is perceived, that's why most of the times those lines get hidden behind hair. Also front looking faces are even trickier imo

I'm trying my absolute hardest to not be hard on myself. I've gone from being shit, to thinking im still shit, but while being surprised/happy that I was able to create something that made me smile because I was drawing my favorite characters. I started drawing because I couldn't take it anymore and was overly inspired. I don't really have many friends or any that are into touhou but I want to post my art because theres a shared feeling of seeing your favorite characters in any kind of art style, because you recognize that someone put their heart into it, one way or another. If me being brave enough to post what I think is 'shit' because I'm hard on myself, please find it in yourself to start drawing. I want to see a world where people lift each other up, not push them down. I would like to start a profile on something like pixiv or twitter but I know I'm not good enough at all, but I want to share my love for these characters. Seeing you say you simply wish you could draw is enough to make me realize I've come far from just a few months ago as being completely clueless to just wanting to draw what I see and learning every step of the way. Self discipline is very hard when it comes to art, but I find that like my favorite artist said, it is easiest to draw when you are drawing your favorite things or favorite characters, because you will put your love into it. Start drawing anon, you'll surprise yourself if you just keep up at it. With that being said, to anyone looking in this thread feeling the same 'wishing' that they could draw, know that every artist has been there and got to where they were now because they fought through the hardship of learning and going through so many mistakes till the good habits kept getting refined. I hope someone likes what I post, because I love these characters, and I hope that the same people that love these characters, share the same feeling of simply having their heart smile when they see any fanart of them.

Honing your skills as an artist is directly tied to getting better and everything starts at step one which is kind of just doing something at all, if you want to start a new hobby. For the anon I replied to originally, I was simply trying to get the message across on why they should just start if they wished they could draw. Its easy to wish and you can wish all day, but the sooner you just start the easier that wish can become a 'I can.' All drawing should be for fun imo; if you don't enjoy it originally or in the first place when you started, why are you doing it now?

Yeah I've had issues with this before. I probably made the combined length of the stomach and pelvis too long

My intention, since the hand was pointing towards the viewer, was to make the hands and fingers bigger. I really really struggled with the hand pose and perspective though so I probably lost the correct proportion along the way

Henlo. I've been using Krita to draw lately, and until recently, I only used one brush to draw which was called Basic 6. My prior beach backgrounds were all drawn manually with that brush. Now, after experimenting around, I found two more useful brushes: crackle texture for the seafoam effect on the water, and then a snow pack texture for the clouds. I made this so you could see the difference in the brushes. I think I used another kind of brush for the water's reflection, I'm not sure what it was, since I often use random brushes to play around.

I got mostway through colourising this image I really liked until I realised that doing the blood on her clothes would probably have to actually be drawn in properly and not coloured in lazily from the sketch.
Some tips would be nice on how to do that before I put in an hour or two doing the rest of the blood, because my actual drawing skills suck, and while I made a decent enough attempt I'm still not sure it looks right.
Also the hair needs looking at but that can wait. Again, abysmal drawing skills, but I can fuck around with the brush settings until it doesn't look awful

It's just a colourisation of this image I saw, liked, and nabbed.
I have no sense of perspective or scale, I could not actually draw this if my life depended on it.

Colouring sketches however is mostly just tedious and has most of the payoff of actually drawing "properly", so someone with some patience and basic knowledge (Like me) can go in and improve an image somewhat without too much difficulty.

It is harder than just using the fill tool, since rarely are monochrome images properly sectioned off so that'd work, so at the very least it's more than a monkey and a box of crayons could do.

I'd almost say it looks pretty good, but I would need to finish the hair for that, and I don't think I have it in me today.
I made the blood on her tongue darker than the stuff on her face, since red on red usually just goes black.
[See; Redcoat uniforms and wounds. It just goes black/maybe maroon, you can totally still see it.]
I'll do the hair and touch up some of the edges tomorrow, and then I think I'll be done.
Several hours of work for not all that much, but hey it's a colourised image that isn't just the fill tool.

I think her thumb goes behind the right cheekbone, with her palm supporting the remnants of the ̶l̶u̶c̶k̶y̶ poor guy's spinal column, maybe with the little and ring fingers curled around the base?
No matter how hard I look at it I can't quite see what the guy was going for beyond a generic lump of gore. I don't see a lower mandible in there though.
Really, either her wrist of her fingers are doing something funny, or both. Maybe I'm expecting too much of what's obviously a quick sketch for some forgotten purpose. Or just cause the og artist thought it was neat.

Good thing I've been gaining XP for nearly seven years so that you don't have to. I'll probably cut the right drawing out and use it as a colouring guide then.
I did try and pose my left hand like in the pic, and while it is only just possible it would also be more like how I would pick up a skull.
The more I look at it the more it becomes one of those illusions that you can see both a hare and a duck in depending on which way you think the eyes are facing, but the teeth dripping blood along the gaps between them onto the hand sold the right to me.

I specifically left this bit until last because I couldn't figure out what was happening and was expecting everything to pop into place once I added a little chromatic context. but it would seem that I fished up a red herring.

I almost never do it. Not even out of prudery but because i really likes both boobs and pubes which makes me gravitate towards more mature body type. If i ever draw young character like members of team 9 i generally go for aged up versions. Not to mention that i generally see majority of touhou characters as young women rather than girls so i usually don't even really think about it.
The most petite characters i draw are like that Neptune Mermaide i posted a while ago, and even she has decently shaped chest.

The last time I was at sea, on the 2020 trip to Crimea, I didn't swim either, if I recall correctly, despite choosing some of my lodgings with that in mind. I canceled one after an encounter at the previous place made me realize August was prime spooder season, and I wasn't let into another because of the concern that my chronic cough could endanger the owner's baby. (This didn't stop them from trying to make me pay for it afterward.) While the replacements were also near the sea, I ended up not taking a dip.

Living by the sea is nice, sure. I think living by a mountain lake beats it though, assuming you don't mind the difficult logistics = absence of readily available civilization privileges. The air and everything are fresher + no danger of tsunami + better hiking and even climbing opportunities.
