All the more reason to master them. Evening the odds when facing an opponent who wields your weakness is important. Social skills would go a long way in ensuring that these holymen never come down on you at all, however. If the sisters came from an aristocratic background prior to their turning then maybe they would have already had some of these skills drilled into them.

Both the sisters and even Vlad himself probably weren't vampires for long enough at that point in time to truly drift apart from their humanity, though you could argue that Vlad was psychopathic enough that he didn't need vampirism to aid in that. Nta but reading all that made me think, that remi came to gensokyo probably not only to escape the growing humans, but also the growing demons and other youkai adapting to the strength of the humans in the outside world. Remilia probably found it more and more difficult to keep her sister safe and sheltered so to gensokyo she went, and with her ability to manipulate fate, however strong or weak it is she managed to get to a peaceful place that gives her and her mansion whatever human resources she needs. No longer needing to compete with the other youkai nor adhere to any youkai who could be stronger than her, especially vampires that are far far worse than her and thrive in the outside world. My only question is why would, with the end product in mind, the youkai request akyuu to write a fairly positive outlook over gensokyo when youkai derive from fear and conflict with humans? I like to think that Akyuu either put up that level to increase human fear towards the vampires(although not sure if they really need fear like most youkai and just eating humans works for them) or it's due to the vampire incident.
