It was a Saturday, like any other. It was 11 AM.
Birds were chirping, the wind was howling, the trees' sticks were flailing. The melody of life had taken place, as did the ruckus humans and youkais alike were causing as they were singing their own tune. Amidst this discordant composition was one thoughtful rabbit.
Her name... was Seiran. She had led quite the difficult career, and today would not be the day that would revoke the contract she had signed to merely exist. Whether has a fodder of a unit at the moon, or as a neglected dango saleswoman, the blue rabbit has had quite a few opportunities to look back on her own life, or at least, in the few moments where she had allowed herself or was granted the ability to not follow along the world's ballad.
Unfortunate as it may be, all these times, these split seconds of self reflection, at whichever point of her life, led to the same conclusion: The anthem of those surrounding her was one of indifference. So much so that, were her species' nature cowardice allow it, if her sudden disappearance at her own hands were to happen, not one requiem would be hummed her way, let alone a chant.
Lost in the desperate serenade that had been her life, she had almost failed to notice a rather unusual sight... a man had been calling for her to be served some mitarashi dangos. Was this merely a call back to reality, and a reminder for the moon bunny to go along with the flow of life? Well, I suppose one could say that, but upon closer inspection and while engaging with that man, Seiran felt... something. She was never the sharpest eye at deciphering others by their looks and body language alone, even her former comrades could say as much, but something ringed a bell for Seiran in that man's mannerisms... They evoked just as much of a look of someone being weighted down by the burdens of guilt and doubt, empty as they may be, as her. But deep beneath this person, she felt the same kind of heart she had. Just as a tree's roots gave life, Seiran and the man's eyes seem to crave to make the world a better place, one way or another. It may have been buried under the loud symphony of self inflicted sins, but it was there.
The two of them exchanged a few words, rather cordial with each other. Pleased with his lunch, the man Seiran would come to know as Anon made a claim even the innermost part of her soul couldn't have read - "I'd like to have lunch with you tomorrow".
Could it be? Had Seiran found someone that would sing the same song and dance as her? Someone that would go along with her flow? Or would it simply be one of life's twisted jokes, a dissonant noise in a medley of apathy? Only time would tell...

(Trying something, don't expect consistent outputs on my end, I just felt a little whimsical today. Sorry if it's a little sloppy. I hope you enjoyed it regardless. Seiran inspires me a lot, although the leitmotif you may have spotted could have been used for a more musically oriented character, I suppose).
